Mood Board These are not just everyday objects but things of beauty. We embrace modern industrial materials such as metal, glass and a touch of old brick and wood to remind us of the factories many of these fine vehicles were birthed in. The color red is a color of passion, which is popular amongst cars and are popular in our design choices. This boards show that heavily altered pieces are not our focus, but clean, minimally adulterated pieces that embrace the objects original beauty are what we to produce. 3

Mission

We sell and craft contemporary furniture pieces made from an endless collection of desirable cars. You can buy a piece that brings back memories, or we’ll craft a set from the vehicle that you love. Either way, our furniture will surely bring new life to your automotive world. We bring the beauty and style of your favorite automobiles into the home in a clean and tasteful fashion. By re-imagining each parts function, we are able to preserve it’s soul and your passion.

Passion

Timeless Restore Choices

We aim to keep your passion alive by providing a new way to enjoy what you love. We create timeless designs that still fit well into today’s contemporary style. By restoring parts that would otherwise be discarded, we help reduce waste. The choices are yours to make, so let us know what you want and we’ll make it happen.

6

7

Target Consumers We bring a love for great automobiles into the lives of those who love automobiles. By making clean contemporary furniture out of treasured vehicles, we will be able to help that passion grow more than ever. Our consumers are those who not just appreciate cars, but enjoy them as part of their lifestyle. Car guys come from a wide array of backgrounds, but as long as they appreciate fine cars, then we are what they are looking for.

Name Clutch Carniture

Clutch – every automotive enthusiast the clutch is what often defines a true drivers car. Carniture – what better combination of car and furniture is there? In addition to the name, our logo is made to resemble a popular identifying automotive symbol - the emblem. These designs reflect car emblems and ornaments in their shape and style. Our fonts reflect both extremes of automotive emblems. A hard edged Porsche inspired font to represent technological advancements and development and then a scripted font similar to the hand written signatures of their founders that are used on a wide range of vehicles from Ford to Lamborghini.

Photos & Graphics Color Palette Our primary color palette is reflected in our logo and our type. The red and orange are the extremes of our gradient. Red is a color of passion and a popular paint option for automobiles. Orange is bright and bold and draws your attention. The various grays reflect the color of metal, a dominant aspect of classic cars. Icon Library Our icons also share that clean layout idea, with almost minimal shapes making each logo. They reference our logo with the use of the same gradient. Since a big part of our brand is the various pieces of furniture, we wanted to make icons that reflect the different furniture pieces by category. Photo/Illustration/Graphics The photos we use are tightly cropped images of automobiles. Our graphic elements reference the same simple, sleek style we are aiming for. The orange line and the blurred photo area topped with the orange line are often used in our layouts. 35

Layout & Type Grid System For the grid system, we fit a 6x6 grid with 0.25” margins to our book size, 8.5”x6.5”. This gave us versatile yet structured layout options. Sample Layout Our sample layout utilizes our grid system and type hierarchy to demonstrate some of the possibilites that this system gives us. Type Hierarchy For our heading 1 and subheading 1, we reflect the fonts used in the logo. The rest of the type is Century Gothic, in different variations suited to its use. This gives us an easily readable font that fits with much of our clean simplistic layout.

Passion – We aim to keep your passion alive by providing a new way to enjoy what you love. Timeless – We create timeless designs that still fit well into today’s contemporary style.

Photo of the first garage Clutch Carniture started at.

Restore – By restoring parts that would otherwise be discarded, we help reduce waste. Catering – The choices are yours to make, so let us know what you want and we’ll make it happen.

The beginning of Clutch Carniture started with a small garage and big dreams. A dream of preserving one’s sentiment and personifying their general love of vehicles through furniture. In 2010, Sean Davis and Vaughn Kisling began at that small garage in the heart of Omaha where they steadily grew their business. They based their furniture on a clean and contemporary look that caters to all garages with all different kinds of style.

Sean Corron That idea of creating something from nothing, that divine impulse, has been the drive behind all of my work, and often my reason for acquiring knowledge. A great confidence comes from knowing that you can supply your own needs. When I encounter a basic skill or technology about which I know nothing, I usually decide to gain some proficiency in that area, whether it be cutting glass, joining wood, or writing HTML. Another element of my obsession lies in my hatred of waste. Many of the things I make are repurposed items that would have been discarded

had I not saved them. Most of the copper I use is electrical wire with flaking and failed insulation. I use chipped lawnmower blades and dull files when a project calls for steel, and occasionally I will incorporate failed electronic components into jewelry. Salvaged wood, trashed road signs, leather from worn-out boots - I use whatever is at hand, often letting the available materials dictate the direction of a project.

On the Road Trade Show Booth As being centered around the automotive world, we will need a large presence at various car shows and expos across the country. Our booth design is large enough to display some recent pieces as well as provide a business front where we can sit down and discuss options with potential clients. Transportation In order to transport our booth, our pieces, as well as bringing vehicles that will be transformed back to our shop, we will use a large enclosed trailer and a truck. This truck fits with our style because it’s a vintage truck, but has been made to fit our transportation needs. With both our booth and our transportation, we want to ensure we have big presence. We make sure everything is branded with our logo, yet we want to ensure it fits with our clean aesthetic by keeping things simple.

Headquarters The headquarters serves several functions for Clutch Carniture. It is where both the business and the building take place. Step into the lobby and see some example pieces set out, not just as display items but as functioning pieces of furniture. You are more than welcome to watch our own designers at work back in the shop as they take a vehicle and recreate something beautiful out of it. Take some time to talk with our representatives and we can build something exactly for you or find a piece already made from one of several outside designers we support. Upstairs is where our offices are located and is also where we can store much of what we have in inventory.
