U R BA N C OT TAG E problem
The idea of the Lakeside Urban Cottage stems from an objective to create a space from which the outdoor view is accessible from every single corner and area of the cottage, be it the lounge, the foyer, or even the bedroom. The Urban Cottage was built on a lakeshore and designed with large floor-to-ceiling glass pivot doors facing West, thus allowing the occupant to enjoy sunset scenery even without walking out to the balcony. The use of brick wall was minimised in order to avoid creating a stuffy ambience. Partition was then chosen to be used as a substitute. Multifunctional floor-to-ceiling TV cabinet, which also acts as a mini bar table, was placed to indicate an area marking between the lounge area and mini bar area, thus avoiding the use of separate furnitures to create a more spacious ambience. Strip windows were placed on the North wall at the mini bar area, enabling the occupant to check surrounding scenery without going out to the side balcony and without minimising privacy which tends to happen when large windows were used instead of strip windows.

THE 2 . 5 STOREY SOHO WITH 36 M 2 TOTAL AREA The word pagupon is derived from the Javanese word pagupon , meaning pigeon cage. Pagupon SOHO has a shape like a pigeon cage with its ground floor not surrounded by any walls, immitating the long wood structure of a real pagupon . Based on the true principle of a real pagupon , Pagupon SOHO is designed as a rather small, narrow building without sacrificing the needs of the person who lives inside it in order to do their everyday activities. The Pagupon SOHO is planned to be built on a 5 x 5m 2 site at City Home Regency, Keputih in Surabaya.

productivity
The ground floor is designed as an open space with a ‘levelling play’ on the floor, adapting one of Javanese popular traditional game, Engklek , with flexibility purpose. The steps system can create many possibilities of spatial usability. The lower and higher steps can play a role of chair and table, or a tribune to provide a facility for a fun discussion and a client meeting.
objectives
In order to create a green building, secondhand natural Bamboos (can easily be found at the site’s surrounding area) are used as a façade to create an impression of a light building which can strongly be supported by only some Bamboos. The actual structure is made of light steel as it is known as a green material because of its sustainability.
problem
Most graphic designers spend the majority of their time inside a building whose design has a possibility to encourage or constrain physical activity. Therefore, leading it to the ability to improve or decrease human’s health. Going through a design process can make graphic designer spends almost 10 hours per day sitting on a chair with constraint movement. Therefore, a design with an ability to increase physical movement is very much needed. This aim is approached by designing a circulation system that encourages stair use. Constructed in an urban area, this SOHO rose vertically on a site of 5 x 5m 2, leaving small space to fulfill office work and everyday living necessities. Therefore, the concept of flexibility is applied to the house to leave more space for circulation.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Based on Harvard study on the relevance of physical exercises and work performance, exercise has been shown to elevate mood and employees’ health, which has serious implications for workplace performance. That makes exercise being an essential factor to improve a graphic designer’s productivity. Therefore, a SOHO design that encourages those who live inside it to regularly use stairs in order to do their everyday activity is a solution. Multifuctional furnitures also require more effort and physical move. In this concept, the multifunctional bed and pantry need more effort of folding and unfolding after using it.

MARKETING OFFICE SURABAYA
problem
The interior redesign for PT. Pupuk Kaltim’s marketing office in Surabaya was focused on making a cozy and contemporary interior while avoiding its risk of being boring, The concept was supported with proper furniture design, such as adding a half partition that also plays a role as an individual storage in between every working desk of each staff, to achieve a more conducive working atmosphere. Individual storage is also given to prevent messy desk. The product display at the lobby was also redesigned to achieve a more appealing look as a form of corporate branding improvement.

PONDOK TEMPO

D O E LO E J U A N DA RESTAURANT AND BAKERY
Pondok Tempo Doeloe is a restaurant which specialising in serving Indonesian quisine from all across the Java Island with a unique tinge of East Javanese taste and is owned by IBC Group. The restaurant is located in Juanda Waru Highway, Sidoarjo and can easily be reached from Juanda International Airport with approximately only 3.3km distance. This desireable location provides great marketing opportunities for commercial businesses such as restaurant, hence the many competitors aiming for the same target market. This competitive market field urges Pondok Tempo Doeloe to display a certain distictive character visually in order to appeal more to the customers, and one of it can be achieved through interior design. To live up to its name—whose literal translation is an ‘old hut’—the restaurant is decorated with a series of old photos collection hung on the wall, antique pendant lamps hanging on the ceiling, and kroncong music played to accompany the dining time. This atmosphere, unfortunately, hasn’t been delivered quite well through the interior aspects and still is questioned by some of the restaurant’ s customers, and thus why Pondok T empo Doeloe Juanda needs an interior redesign.

INTERIOR DESIGN
A combination of Yankee and Colonialism style was considered to be most suitable for Pondok Tempo Doeloe Juanda. The style could be applied through the usage of a retro cement tiles ‘tegel’, dual-toned wall paint finish, lumber ceiling and wooden drop ceiling, the angled vertical form and the usage of rattan and dark furnished woods for the furniture, a combination of stained glass for the room divider, and through some antique or retro decors in order to create the desired twentieth-century nostalgia.

FUTSAL FIELD
MINI SKATE PARK
A futsal field is located around the corner to stimulate people’s interaction by playing sports together even with those they just met at the park and don’t know personally.
A not too spacious skate park was placenearby the futsal field and is built with a concrete flooring to ensure comfortability of skating activities. One common sight we can find at most parks in Surabaya is kids and teenagers playing around with their roller blades. This area can also be used for roller blades user strolling around the area without disturbing the other pedestrians at the park.
REFLEXOLOGY TRACK A reflexology track, wide enough for three people to walk in a row is intended to facilitate elder people and adults going jogging or walking around in the morning. Trees and bushes are planted alongside the track to provide fresh air in the morning and shelter from the sunlight when it gets too hot.
PLAZA The real gathering place. A space to be freely used either to discuss things, for the teenagers hanging out with their friends, with an open amphiteather that can be used for some live performance at Saturday nights or even as a place to hold a competition which is open for public to join.

FISH POND A Koi pond is intended to be the accentutation of the park itself, where in the morning people will find the sound of water gurgling and splashing from the pond areas calming and alluring. The pond is put alongside the reflexology track to emphasize the mind peacefulness of the track users by giving them a sight of water.
MINI PLAYGROUND A playground with concrete seating at its sides to facilitate parents who want to keep an eye at their children while playing. Concrete seating is wide enough to accommodate two people sitting facing both the playground and leisure area.
LEISURE AREA The leisure area is a space equipped with multifunctional stools, chairs, and park bench that allow multiple seating positions as desired by its users. Long curvy bench was put in the largest area with a canopy on top of it. Leisure can never be complete without snacking, so a food stall area is put around a nearby corner.
SITE PLAN The park is planned to be built at a site located beside Majapahit Hotel across Suroboyo Pers Monument. The site is 25m in width and 50m in length.
