Hello! I’m Srishti, currently in my fourth year of architecture school. This portfolio comprises of selected works throughout my term in this course.

Architecture inspired me to observe the role each space plays in our lives. The urge to experience the surroundings and sketch the details in my free time, to understand how every component, no matter how small, plays a part in making the space complete.

SHOPPING

MALL

The idea of the project is to create a lively shopping + interacting space for the users in its proximity, in the city of Pune. The form was created by applying puntures to a regular cuboid and adding addition al mass to create a hierarchy of spaces. The entry cutout is huge providing a grand and welcoming entrance. Moreover, the facade is a mix of exposed concrete and panels of timber block louvres, to break the monotonocity of the materials.

DISASTER RELIEF SHELTER

The shelter has an origami based deployable struc ture inspired from the Yoshimura folding pattern. This enables folding of the structure with less effort, mak ing it easy to transport in the times of need. Upon reaching the affected area each unit can be easily set up in no more than 5 hours. Interior of each unit has a raised platform which at night becomes the sleeping space whereas in the day it transforms into a common family area.

HIGH RISE HOUSING

The number of gated communities is increasing rap idly in Pune. The design proposes to provide all es sential facilities within the site so that users need not travel long distances for short errands. The clusters include 2bhk, 3bhk and 4bhk plans. All 6 blocks are of G+20 floors, connected at the rooftop, where lux ury and high end commercial experiences are pro vided - including rooftop pool, various cafeterias and restaurants, etc.

INTERNSHIP

Live Project (On-going)

Restaurant Interior Amravati, Maharashtra

Area: 36 m2

The project proposal was for the Hunger Howl franchise, that sells various kinds of sandwiches and many more. The interior was designed by carefully considering the theme of the restaurant. As per the client, a dark themed cafe with neon lights was provided along with glowing tropical graffitis and wolf paw prints on the whole - all these characteristics ensured a dark jungle environment. The kitchen layout was divided into various counters as per the different kinds of workspaces.

INTERNSHIP Live Project (On-going)

Countryside Residence Panvel, Maharashtra Site Area: 1200 m2

Emphasis was given upon scenic views and climatic con text. In order to make the project more sustainable, a gabion boundary wall was proposed, using rocks found in and around the site. Main features of the project in cluded multiple gardens, an infinity pool, a pet pool, courtyards and overhangs from upper floors to maximize shading and cooling of the structure. An observatory deck was proposed on the terrace, facing away from the road and towards the valley.

DIMENSIONS OF LIGHT

Specially created based off the rich Islamic designs and the desert element of Egypt, the concept beneath presents a model for a ceiling hanging lamp. This lamp is designed for residential use - impressing a simple yet aesthetic vibe to it. The form begins with a 350 mm diameter cylindrical Islamic jali in the cen tre, surrounded by organic ringed panels around it. The jali is inspired from the translation of the phrase ‘Dimensions of Light’. Within this is a cylindrical LED lamp of 9.5W.

Hands-On Bamboo & Earth Workshop

26th-30th Dec 2021|Sundarbans

The 5 day workshop offered a hands on experience in terms of both bamboo and earth. The entire workflow helped me explore how various raw materials can be used in multiple ways during construction.

We completed 2 projects in total:

• An Ecosan toilet for the villagers

• An outdoor kitchen for the owners of our homestay in Sundarbans
