To whom may it concern: My name is Silvia Rivela and I would like to express my interest to be an Architect at SHoP. I received my degree and M.Arch in Architecture in 2014 from Universidad Europea de Madrid, an international school with the US NAAB Accreditation. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree specialized in innovation design for workspace, learning spaces and retail environments at IE School of Architecture & Design, Madrid. My prior experience include a wide range of projects with a focus on residential and commercial designs, productive landscapes and other multi-disciplinary projects. My training and interests came together as I worked on my thesis project, U.A.S, a self sustaining urban aquaponic garden. Since graduation, I focused on Human Centered Design, Workplace, and Retail projects, working for an architect in Madrid. In pursuit of my current Master's, I have collaborated on these these projects with senior designers from the Royal College of Arts in London, architects from O+A, AECOM, and GENSLER UK. My responsibilities included concept design, finding furniture, designing bespoke joinery pieces, drafting construction documents, and communicating with suppliers. I am an excellent team-worker, really enthusiastic with strong attention to detail, and confident of my ability to learn quickly. It would be a great honor for me to be part of your team work since I really admire your architectural approaches to design and construction always driven by innovation. I believe this position would be a great opportunity for me to grow professionally and I am sure you could make a good use of my creative and technical skills. I've already been accepted in a J-1 visa program. That's a simple process, I will take care of everything and the studio will just need to sign the sponsorship agreement.
