Dear Youth! Sri Ramakrishna Math is presenting an opportunity to display your talents and strengths to contribute something of value to the society. On Sep. 11, 1893, Swami Vivekananda proclaimed India’s cultural, intellectual and spiritual greatness at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago. It was only after Swamiji proclaimed that v we started believing in our own strength and greatness; v the world began to give us due respect; v we were awakened from foreign slavery and fancies; v we stirred our way to freedom, and v the world began to take notice of our country with astonishment. Hence, dear students, imbibe the message of Swamiji, understand its power and thereby raise our nation. To achieve this, we have designed competitions under five categories based on three lectures of Swami Vivekananda delivered at Chicago. Section 1: Recitation - Oratorical Competitions For Students from class 6 to 9 Section 2: Essay-writing and Oratorical Competitions For Students from class 10 to 12

These are the topics for essay, oration, Poem and Drawing competitions. Any one of the topics can be chosen for your participation:
1. Come out of the well to the ocean. 2. How will you apply Swamiji’s messages, ‘Help & not Fight’, ‘Assimilation & not Destruction’ in your life? 3. Religious harmony and social progress are essential to India’s growth and development. 4. If Swami Vivekananda sees India today, what will he be proud of and what will he be ashamed of? 5. When Swamiji uttered ‘Sisters and Brothers of America’ he was given a standing ovation for 2 full minutes from the audience of over 4000. Explain the power behind this phenomenon? No fee for competition. 6. How can we stand united and solve the problems, when the unity of our nation is in danger? All are welcome to 7. When I have power within me, like a sea, why should I be a frog in a well? participate. 8. What are the issues that Vivekananda believed for which death-knell was sounded on Sep.11? 9.
