LOCATION 105 West 89th Street, New York, NY SIZE 7,000 sqft. ARCHITECT Marble Fairbanks DESCRIPTION Combination of 3 floors in an existing townhouse. Work included a custom glass floor, cantilevered millwork, movable partitions, and a new kitchen and baths. An integrated AV-music system and new custom automated shade system were also installed.

LOCATION 1016 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY SIZE 8,000 sqft. ARCHITECT Victoria Blau Architect DESCRIPTION Residential apartment combination.

LOCATION 157 Hudson Street, New York, NY SIZE 3,000 sqft. ARCHITECT Ben Hansen Architect DESCRIPTION Interior build-out within the Amex Building [entire building renovated by Foundations Group]. Work included the installation of industrial-size garage doors, interior ramps, full-height glass walls, high-end finishes, and extensive new electrical and plumbing systems.

LOCATION Sonnabend Gallery, New York, NY ARCHITECT Zaha Hadid CURATOR Kenny Schachter DESCRIPTION Temporary exhibition of large organic and bold fiberglass sculptural pieces comprising “Stalactites� which hang from the ceiling, taking over the entire space. A special drop-ceiling was built to accomodate these sculptures, which suggests a fluidity of peaks and valleys.

LOCATION 875 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY ARCHITECT Abelow Sherman Architects DESCRIPTION Gut renovation of 1 enitre floor of a post-war apartment building. White glass rooms and custom stonework were installed throughout, along with new custom flooring, and extensive metalwork and millwork. Additional work included new mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as a new custom kitchen and baths.

LOCATION 420 West Broadway, New York, NY SIZE 5,000 sqft. ARCHITECT Victoria Blau Architect DESCRIPTION Construction of a 3-floor penthouse on top of an existing building. A new steel structure with a custom aluminum and glass system was built to allow for this triplex. New extensive stonework, glasswork, and millwork was done throughout, along with custom steel and stone stairs, and custom stone exterior elements. New mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and radiant floor heating systems were also installed, as well as a new kitchen and baths.

LOCATION 20 West 77th Street, New York, NY SIZE 2,800 sqft. ARCHITECT Joel Sanders Architect DESCRIPTION Gut renovation of a pre-war apartment. Work included epoxy-coated walls and floors, and custom-colored glass walls and panels. Extensive rift-cut walnut paneling and millwork was done throughout, along with new plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.

STEUBEN GLASS EXHIBIT 70.








LOCATION Museum of the City of New York, New York, NY SIZE 10,000 sqft. CURATOR Donald Albrecht DESCRIPTION Temporary exhibition of more than 200 objects that celebrate the founding of Steuben Glass in Corning, NY. Most of the pieces are rare - from major American and European museums and private collections - and are displayed along with original design drawings, books, catalogs, photographs of Corning Glass’ glass-sheathed skyscraper built in New York in 1959, and a recreation of a wall comprised of crystal glass elements made for Steuben’s Fifth Avenue display room.

LOCATION 65 West 13th Street, New York, NY SIZE 3,800 sqft. ARCHITECT Victoria Blau Architect DESCRIPTION Construction of a loft. Work included a new custom interior core of floorto-ceiling paneling, steel and glass walls, tinted plaster and stone, and a custom steel and glass wall of wine storage with an integrated lighting system. The apartment was also fitted with automated shades, lights, and music, in addition to multiple zones of air conditioning and humidification.

LOCATION 421 Hudson Street, New York, NY SIZE 3,200 sqft. ARCHITECT Workshop/apd DESCRIPTION Residential apartment combination.

LOCATION 101 Central Park West, New York, NY ARCHITECT Leroy Street Studio DESCRIPTION Construction and combination of 2 full apartment floors. Work included the breakthrough and combination of the existing apartments, along with the installation of new custom wood stairs, and new plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Additional work included a new kitchen and new baths with custom high-end finishes.

COOPER HEWITT EXHIBIT 110.






LOCATION Cooper Hewitt Design Museum, New York, NY SIZE 10,000 sqft. CURATOR Donald Albrecht + Elizabeth Johnson DESCRIPTION Temporary exhibition made to explore the idea of the contemporary hotel as a design laboratory and fantasy experience by combining architecture, interior design, photography, film, and works of art. Seven installations and/ or projects were included which were specially commissioned by Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. The five thematic sections of this exhibition were: urban hotels, hotels as global business, hotels on the move, natural hotels, and fantasy hotels. Joel Sanders Architect’s modular design for the 24/7 Business Hotel is shown here.

LOCATION Soho, New York, NY SIZE 8,000 sqft. ARCHITECT MR Architect + Décor DESCRIPTION Penthouse apartment combination.

LOCATION 755 Park Avenue, New York, NY SIZE 4,000 sqft. ARCHITECT Peter Moore Architect DESCRIPTION Gut renovation of a pre-war apartment. Work included the installation of new mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as high-end finishes.

LOCATION 33 West 67th Street, New York, NY SIZE 3,000 sqft. ARCHITECT Kolatan MacDonald Associates DESCRIPTION Gut renovation and combination of 2 existing loft spaces. Movable concrete partitions on airplane hanger tracks were installed to divide the space into 2 units, and custom-made fiberglass free-standing forms housing the bathrooms were added along with epoxy floors that folded into walls. Other work included new glass walls and doors, and stainless steel metalwork.

LOCATION Cooper Union - Great Hall, New York, NY SIZE 5,000 sqft. CURATOR Lee H. Skolnick [Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design] DESCRIPTION Temporary exhibition commemorating The Cooper Union’s 150th anniversary. It is located just outside The Cooper Union’s Great Hall, providing visitors with a broad view of the institution and its place in New York City history.

LOCATION 52-62 Cooper Square, New York, NY SIZE 2,800 sqft. ARCHITECT Stefania Rinaldi Studio DESCRIPTION Construction of a loft in an industrial building that had been converted for residential use. Work included new aluminum and glass doors, custom millwork, and new wide-plank rift-cut wood flooring and movable panelling. New electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems were also installed, along with a new kitchen and baths.

LEE RESIDENCE 158.








LOCATION Millennium Tower, New York, NY SIZE 1,800 sqft. ARCHITECT Joel Sanders Architect DESCRIPTION Construction of an apartment. Work included the creation of a new custom interior satin-etched glass structure with a wrapping of periphery custom millwork, and floor-to-ceiling surface blending at the core. A new kitchen and new baths were also installed.

LOCATION 175 West 13th Street, New York, NY ARCHITECT Stefania Rinaldi Studio DESCRIPTION Construction and combination of 3 apartments. Work was phased to allow the family to live in certain sections while the rest of the work was continued and completed throughout. Work included extensive custom interior millwork, new wall penetrations to allow for brand new windows, new electrical and plumbing services, and new kitchens and custom stone baths.
