Identifying the Need.

How can innovation compliment the tradition? The Indian homes have rotis as their daily bread. The storage of this big unit and carrying out the process hustle free is a difficult task. Individual project-1 month.

India believes in tradition first. With the passing years, India has developed widely on technological aspect but it couldn’t completely replace the magic of hand cooked food. How can the process of making roti can be made easier without the drastic changes in the mindsets of people?

Discovering Possibilities.

How can simplicity achieve versatility? The spaces nowadays are getting small and people are getting over the fixed huge furnitures. In the world of changing needs, people need easily transformable furniture. Individual project-3 months

A step just before the final start.

Trying different types of moving mechanisms to the ideas and arriving at one.

Rough mockups to check placement of each part and finally starting 1:1 cardboard mockup

The cardboard mock up pointed out some areas which needed to work upon, which helped me to build more efficiently.

The Manufacturing. Step1 Pasting the template. Giving basic shape. Cutting the angled slits.

Step2 Drilling holes for screws. Checking assembly. Sanding the edges.

Step3 Varnishing the sanded surfaces Drying it for other coats. The flat-pack is ready.

Crosseque is a versatile flat-pack piece of furniture that can enhance all type of living space in many creative ways and can be customized according to the user needs.

What will make a meal time more enhancing? The people in the restaurants are mostly engaged in the phone and miss their precious dining experience. People are so addicted that it is difficult to change their habit completely at once. Individual project-1 month

What if the lamp in restaurants helps us to charge the phone and at the same time allow us having a phone free meal?

People being on phone during the meals makes other person feel ignored as well as taking away the pleasure of dining experience.

A restaurant table lamp that has QI charging which will encourage people to keep their phone aside and initiate a conversation. Within sight,without use.

Lamps with QI charging which makes phone part of it effortlessly. All you have to do is just slide your phone below it.

How about same module performing number of roles? Nowadays in homes, people are getting more isolated by being in their bedrooms. How can the living room enable the family bonding by helping everyone to find their own zone in living room? Team project-4 months

Homecentre is Dubai based Store and are located in GCC and Asian countries having their target mainly as emiratis and expats living in dubai.

What defines living room?

Point of contact. Michel Vandamme Head of design and development at Homecentre (landmark group). Is it the layout that defines the living room?

Is it the furniture?

Or is it US who make it?

Conclusion. The size and the layouts of houses changed with the increasing people. When there are more people Religion is the main focus and lesser people, Functionality is the concern.

Carrying out the user study through various mediums like phone calls, Skype and personal interviews and getting different category of users.

Filtering the Feasible. The next step was to start the prototype of the selected concept and still exploring some of the minor details.

CONFIDENTIAL. Working on this project gave me the first time experience to work on a live project from the industry along with getting feedback from the client. It helped me to develop my team building skills and gave me glimpse of how the real industry works.

1. The laptop case is initially a box. Businessman can easily hold it in the hand or it can conveniently go into any existing suitcase.

2. Opens like origami folding. On opening, the case becomes a wall and gives you a private space for work.

3. Space for all laptop accessories. This would save the time in searching for everything as it would be in the same place. Also keeps the documents and papers safely.
