The brief asked for a Cultural Interpretation Centre for a footfall of around 1000. A city has to be chosen and the design should inculcate and reflect the character and culture of the city. The design should be an attempt to attract maximum number of crowd irrespective of their age and choices.

The site located is located alongside RK Beach Road in Vizag that is beside bay of bengal. It is one of the busiest roads in the city hence receives high traffic and high noise. The location of the site amidst large public movement justifies the choice of the site. The site measure 80 by 90 m with two primary access roads

The Interpretation Centre is a public interactive design that focuses mainly on the user engagement and their involvement with the design. It is an attempt to phase out traditional boundaries allowing maximum visibility amidst different spaces. The design tries to achieve utmost openness and ambiguity of spaces simultaneously catering to the needs of the user’s privacy and seclusion. FORM EVOLUTION:
Form taken with respect to the ground coverage area permitted, built - up Area and setbacks from the by laws
Voids created to provide open secluded space as well providing privacy from the main road
Created Zig - Zag patterns to block strong winds from the south side and create views from the different spaces required
Lifted up the heights to create level differences according to the area statements and interior spaces
Providing interconnecting spaces for ease in acces around the interpretation centre

The objective of the brief is to design a school for the age gropus 3-5, the nursery section, and 6-11, the primary section. SInce it is one of the first physical environment away from home, the spaces created must be comfortable and be designed keeping the child’s psychology in mind. The site is located in the upcoming city of Amaravati, whose hot and humid climate poses a challenge to the designer.

The site is located in the new city of Amravati in Andhra Pradesh. The site is located in a hot & humid climate creating a challenge for the designer to be climate responsive.

Mutual Shading Achieved through extended Cantilever Roof on the first floor of the building
Deciduos trees planted on the south side of the building that block the harsh sun but allow the breeze to enter the building
Higher outlets are provided in the classrooms that vent out the hot air and the lower openings in the room allow the cool air to come inside
Cross Ventilation and the view towards the other block so that they can keep an eye on students from anywhere
Good Vision in the classroom and same quality of teaching recieved by the students sitting at the back of the classroom
Exposed brick work provided with natural openings towards the facade which is low maintanence, provides thermal comfort, adds texture and character to the building Nursery and Primary school | 19

Removed the intersection to create interactive space between the two
Extended the roof to provide shade for the interior spaces

The Studio House is an individual residence designed for a nutritionist who aims to work from home considering the times of pandemic, set in an urban neighbourhood primarily focusing on private interactive space and meeting the necessary requirements for a single individual.
