LAMBS’ TALE
1970
Dedication The d e d ica tio n o f the ye a rb o o k is the highest honor th a t a senior class is c a p a b le o f a w a rd in g and we, the Class o f 1970, wish the d e d ica tio n to go to Mrs. V irg in ia M ille r and Mrs. Peter Schoew. These tw o fa c u lty members, a lo n g w ith Miss M cBride, a re perhaps the o n ly ones w ho know every one in the school on a firs t name basis. They are a w a re and concerned w ith the en tire student bo dy and both serve as ve ry necessary u n ify in g fig u re s fo r the w hole school. Unity, even in a school as sm all as St. Agnes, is often h a rd to achieve a n d Mrs. M ille r and Mrs. Schoew have each in her own w a y established a typ e o f unity. Mrs. M ille r is a v ita l p a rt o f the system a t St. Agnes School. There are numerous things which she coordinates, m any o f which never seem to get recognition. W e w ould like to ta ke the tim e now to say "th a n k -y o u Mrs. M ille r," fo r the v a lu a b le tim e you have devoted to St. Agnes and it's in d ivid u a ls: fo r special menus such as lunch fo r JuniorSenior D ay, b irth d a y dinners fo r the boarders, box lunches a t the S pring Festival, lunch fo r Hockey Day, h e lp ing w ith bake sales fo r various activities, the W e lfa re Drive, the sale o f m id-m orning snacks fo r the b re a kfa st o r lunch skipper, the p re p a ra tio n o f lunches w ith enough v a rie ty to please everyone, and fo r p u ttin g up w ith our nonsense a t lunch time. W e 're sure w e 've le ft out much more, but this is our w a y o f show ing you how much we a p p re c ia te w h a t you've done fo r us. Mrs. Schoew has also been a trem endous help to St. A gnes an d it's students. In three short years she has m an a g e d to revam p the a th le tic curriculum by a d d in g new courses a n d electives and a llo w in g us to choose the ones w hich interested us most. She is a lw ays ea g e r to w o rk and c e rta in ly squad is a p p re c ia tiv e o f her efforts and hearty encouragem ents from the sidelines, w h ile the w h ole school has be n e fite d from her e xa m ple o f spirit. It is re m a rka b le th a t Mrs. Schoew, w ith her ve ry busy schedule, alw ays has tim e fo r everyone and eve ryth in g: fo r listening to excuses and problem s both m ajor and m inor, a tte n d in g five o'clo ck squad practices and S a tu rd a y games, p la n n in g and a c com p a n yin g weekend ski trips, and fo r be in g a frie n d to anyone who seeks her frien dsh ip. It is im possible to p u t in to w ords the deep devotion we fe e l to r these two, but we sincerely hope this de dication says in p a rt w h a t we fe e l in our hearts.
In the follow ing pages O f this book W e a re trying to convey This enthusiasm This oneness.
