Our Girl-Centered College Counseling Program The college search process is a journey. With the college admissions landscape more competitive than ever, our college counselors are well equipped to guide students and families through the complex process. Our ultimate goal is to help each girl find a college or university where she will thrive. With this in mind, we have developed a girl-centered college counseling program that begins in grade 9 with discovery and builds throughout her four years of Upper School.

Meet the Team 9 Ways We Help Families with College Admissions Each student has a dedicated college counselor who works closely with her and her family throughout the entire process, including guiding course selections, suggesting test preparations and writing comprehensive and highly personalized recommendation letters. Our comprehensive College Counseling Field Guide provides a roadmap for students and parents to navigate the college search and admissions process with specific content and checklists for each grade level.

Our college counselors have decades of experience working in higher education admissions, and they maintain a robust network with college and university leaders across the nation and abroad.

Anthony Ambrogi Director of College Counseling aambrogi@st.catherines.org 804.288.2804, ext. 3126

College programs are held regularly on campus with workshops and panel discussions by leadership from top colleges and universities across the nation. Class meetings for students, as well as parent sessions, are held regularly on a wide range of topics. Each student and her parents are provided a passwordprotected, web-based college counseling platform that is customized for the St. Catherine’s community and serves as an organizational tool to manage deadlines, requirements and college visits.

Molly Seay ’05

Associate Director of College Counseling mseay@st.catherines.org 804.288.2804, ext. 3120

More than 100 college and university representatives come to campus to meet one-on-one and in small groups with our girls. PSAT and practice ACT exams are held on campus during the school day, and St. Catherine’s is an ACT test center, which gives our girls the home field advantage. Additional support is provided to aspiring artists and aspiring athletes, including National Portfolio Day preparation and NCAA recruitment activities.

Clare Trow Associate Director of College Counseling ctrow@st.catherines.org 804.288.2804, ext. 3036

College tours, essay-writing workshops and training for interview skills are held during the school year and in the summer.
