Our Girl-Centered College Counseling Program
The college search process is a journey. With the college admissions landscape more competitive than ever, our college counselors are well equipped to guide students and families through the complex process. Our ultimate goal is to help each girl find a college or university where she will thrive. With this in mind, we have developed a girl-centered college counseling curriculum that begins in grade 9 with discovery and builds throughout her four years of Upper School.
9 Ways
We Help Families with College Admissions
Each student has a dedicated college counselor who works closely with her and her family throughout the entire process, including guiding course selections, suggesting test preparations and writing comprehensive and highly personalized recommendation letters.

Our comprehensive College Counseling Field Guide provides a roadmap for students and parents to navigate the college search and admissions process with specific content and checklists for each grade level.
College programs are held regularly on campus with workshops and panel discussions by leadership from top colleges and universities across the nation.

Class meetings for students, as well as parent sessions, are held regularly on a wide range of topics.
More than 100 college and university representatives come to campus to meet one-on-one and in small

groups with our girls. Each student and her parents are provided a password-protected, web-based college counseling platform that is customized for the St. Catherine’s community and serves as an organizational tool to manage deadlines, requirements and college visits.
The PSAT is held on campus during the school day, and our counselors advise students on college admission testing.
Additional support is provided to aspiring artists and aspiring athletes, including National Portfolio Day preparation and NCAA recruitment activities.
College tours, essay-writing workshops and training for interview skills are held during the school year and in the summer.
