On Saturday, March 26, 2022 the Third Red and Blue Ring of Honor was held to recognize the outstanding achievements of our past athletes, coaches, moderators and athletic directors, as well as others who have contributed their athletic talent to the Prep. It is because of men and women such as them that the reputation of the school has been enhanced beyond the confines of the school itself. So, it was only fitting that their contributions finally be honored. We at Prep salute them and thank them for giving so much to their Alma Mater. Incidentally, the event proved quite memorable, as close to 750 people gathered to pay tribute to our athletic giants of the past. We will forever be grateful to them and will continue to honor them in the future.

As we welcome our new students, the class of 2026 this fall, we would like to take this opportunity to invite our alumni, benefactors, and friends to attend one or more of the many alumni events throughout the year (See our Alumni Event calendar herein).

As fall approaches, may the Spirit of St. Francis of Assisi provide us with a confidence that these uncertain times will inevitably unite us and that our nation and way of life will ultimately prevail. In closing, let us openly proclaim our heartfelt gratitude to all our loyal alumni, benefactors and friends. It is obvious that we can achieve nothing without them. After all these years, I still continue to be proud of the Prep Community for its fine dedication to the pursuit of excellence, for its tireless concern for all those entrusted to its care, and for its anticipated unwavering commitment to the next 165 years.

As always, I am grateful to the members of the Alumni Board for all they have done and will continue to do for St. Francis Prep. Thank you for your unfailing support. May the Blessings of St. Francis of Assisi be with you and your family, now and all the days of your life. “High School Is Four Years; St. Francis Prep Is Forever”

3-on-3 Hoops Tournament

in Memory of Jimmy Prendergast ’79 & James Prendergast H’11 Three-Point Shot Contest in Memory of Brian O’Connor

Homecoming Weekend began on Thursday, October 21, 2021 with a Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament. This event honors the memory of Jimmy 79, his father James Prendergast ‘H11 and Brian O’Connor ‘86. More than 100 alumni, friends and family members came out to support and participate in the event. Raffles, prizes and refreshments were all part of the evening. Homecoming Day at Belmont Race Track

On Saturday, October 23rd, Alumni, family and friends gathered at Belmont Park for the Annual Homecoming Day at the Races. Guests were invited to the Winner’s Circle to meet the jockey who rode the winning horse in the race dedicated to St. Francis Prep. Aside from the winnings at the betting windows, one lucky guest took home the proceeds of our 50/50 Raffle.

Due to construction and renovation at Belmont Race Track, a different event will be held in its place this year.
