BE A scholar Since 1940, St. John Bosco High School has been committed to empowering our students to achieve their full potential thus ensuring they are prepared for the demands of higher education.

ENGINEERING PATHWAY The Engineering Pathway has adopted the nationally recognized program of Project Lead The Way (PLTW) which provides a rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum. Throughout their courses, students learn and apply processes of design, develop strong collaboration and communication skills, and cultivate critical-thinking and problem solving skills. As a result, after completing the PLTW curriculum, students are well-prepared to complete a post-secondary education and pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Students also earn up to six units of dual college credit.

BIO-MEDICAL PATHWAY

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP PATHWAY

The Bio-Medical Pathway is designed for students who are interested in the fields of biology or medicine. Students must possess well developed academics skills, have a desire to engage in challenging course work, and aspire to pursue higher e ducation leading to a career in medicine or other related fields. Students will conduct independent research, participate in medical simulations, and attend lectures provided by physicians, research scientists, and other medical fields.

St. John Bosco High School has partnered with the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business to create the first four-year interdisciplinary pathway designed to prepare high school students for collegiate business courses. Students also learn how the values of social justice can be incorporated into the business sector. Students will focus on analytical thinking, decision making, and logical reasoning, while researching the latest business trends and techniques necessary to launch and manage successful business ventures. The Entrepreneurship Pathway integrates theory and application, blending real-world innovation experience with proven research models, case studies and service-learning projects.

Through a series of Academic Pathways, students may choose a specific area of interest in which they will participate in advanced level and project-based learning experiences over four years.

SPORTS MEDICINE PATHWAY The Sports Medicine Pathway is designed for students interested in fields such as athletic training, physical therapy, medicine, fitness, physiology of exercise, kinesiology, nutrition, and other sports medicine-related fields. The program includes class work and practical hands-on application. Studies include anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, hygiene, nutrition, taping, bracing, emergency procedures, conditioning, injury prevention and evaluation, rehabilitative procedures and practice/game observations.
