Brandon Delmont '90

Brandon Delmont, a seasoned percussionist and multiinstrumentalist deeply entrenched in Buffalo's dynamic music scene, boasts a rich musical journey spanning over three decades.

Delmont's musical odyssey commenced at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, where his passion for music was ignited. Graduating with a Regents Diploma in 1990 and honored with the esteemed John Philip Sousa Music Award, Delmont's dedication to music was evident from the outset. His leadership roles as President and Vice President of the Concert Band, alongside his involvement in diverse ensembles like Swing Choir Band and Jazz Lab Band, showcased his early musical prowess.

Continuing his musical education, Delmont pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance at the State University of New York College at Buffalo from 1993 to 1996. Under the tutelage of acclaimed percussionist Jim Tiller, Delmont honed his craft, participating actively in ensembles such as the Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and band.

Delmont's commitment to music education and performance has been unwavering throughout his career. He served as a Music Instructor and Percussionist at institutions like Lockport Music Center, where he imparted his knowledge and nurtured aspiring musicians. His tenure at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart saw him directing percussion ensembles, shaping young talents, and fostering a love for music.

In addition to his teaching endeavors, Delmont has made significant contributions to Buffalo's music scene as a versatile performer. From his early days with girlpope, where he recorded acclaimed albums and toured regionally, to his current projects with bands like The Smiths, etc. and Whitetails, Delmont has left an indelible mark on the local music landscape.

Notably, Delmont's stint with Son of the Sun saw him recording critically acclaimed albums, touring regionally, and sharing the stage with renowned acts such as The Guess Who and Our Lady Peace. His musical prowess has graced prestigious events like SXSW and CMJ, and his work has been featured on national television shows.

Beyond his achievements as a performer, Delmont's dedication to music extends to his freelance work, where he collaborates with various artists and engages in diverse musical projects spanning jazz to rock. His versatility as a drummer and percussionist has made him a sought-after talent in the Buffalo music community.

Offstage, Delmont finds joy in family gatherings, sharing Sunday dinners with his family and spending time with his partner Angela and her three sons. With a passion for music that spans decades and a commitment to nurturing musical talent, Brandon Delmont continues to inspire and enrich the Buffalo music scene with his talent, creativity, and unwavering dedication to the art form.

Ryan Murphy '99

Ryan Murphy is a production manager and technical supervisor with almost two decades of experience working on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on National Touring Productions and many other one-off productions in theme parks, cruise ships, arenas and special event spaces. In total his credits include over 30 Broadway Productions, 70 National/International Broadway Tours, and many other Off-Broadway and regional premiers around the US and Canada.

Originally from Buffalo, NY, Ryan graduated from St. Joe’s in 1999. While at SJCI, he was a member of the National Honor Society, a four-year member of Varsity Singers, and a threeyear member of the Swing Choir. He held officer positions in both Varsity Singers and Swing Choir, while also participating in the Spring Musical during all four years. After SJCI, Ryan made the decision to head to Niagara University to pursue a career as an actor, ultimately graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2004 with a BFA in Theatre Studies and a BA in English.

While he loved acting, his time at Niagara opened him up to other career opportunities in the arts. While still in school he began working as the Production Supervisor and Executive Producer for The Rainbow Cubs, a kids edu-tainment start up in Niagara Falls. Employment with “The Cubs” lasted for nearly four years while he simultaneously pursued his MA in English from the University of Rochester, graduating in 2006.

In 2007, after moving to Washington, DC, he began working as the Assistant Production Manager at Troika Entertainment, specializing in touring versions of Broadway hits like Cats, Legally Blonde, Sister Act, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and piles more. Throughout his eight years there, he gradually moved up in the ranks from Assistant to Associate, eventually taking over leadership of the Production department before departing in July of 2015 to work for Aurora Productions in New York.

Aurora gave Ryan the opportunity to further develop his production management skills with the top practitioners in the theatre world. During his 7+ years there, he worked on five Tony Award winning productions, while thirteen more were nominated in at least one creative or design category. He has worked with Jake Gyllenhaal, Denzel Washington, Sally Field, Laurie Metcalf, Nathan Lane, and Lupita Nyong’o; directors Sam Mendes, Bartlett Sher, Joe Mantello, and Ivo Van Hove; and many other incredible actors, directors, producers, designers, general managers, and technicians.

In 2022, Ryan opened his own company, Sightline Productions, to continue his work in production management and to develop a business model that better reflected the core values of his own workcooperation, kindness, humility and positivity- while diversifying the business to include oversight of projects beyond traditional theatre presentations. Since opening, Sightline has opened fourteen productions including most recently the Broadway revival of The Wiz and the complete renovation of the August Wilson Theatre for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club starring Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin. In addition to his work at Sightline, Ryan is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University in their Master’s program for stage managers and producers where he teaches Production Management to graduate level students.

He currently resides in New York City with his husband and two amazing dogs.
