UMCOR SUNDAY - MARCH 10, 2024

The United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters throughout the world to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. Today, Methodist churches everywhere take up a special offering to cover UMCOR’s operation costs so that 100% of donations received in response to emergency appeals go directly to communities in need. For more information about UMCOR visit stlukesumc.com/AboutUMCOR

DIAPER DRIVE STARTING MARCH 24

Hub for Hope’s diaper pantry has distributed over 300,000 diapers into the community since launching in April of 2022. Many families returned month after month for assistance with this critical need. Diapers are expensive and families who cannot afford them statistically lose work, have babies with health issues, stress and emotional strain on relationships and health. Our goal is to supply diapers for 750 children for one year. That’s $75,000! Will you help?

CITY IMPACT SYMPOSIUM ON MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH

APRIL 8 FROM 9AM-NOON -

Did you know that Indiana ranks in the worst 10 states for both infant and maternal mortality? Why do Indiana’s Black women have nearly triple the rate of maternal and infant mortality? How do diapers connect to infant mortality? (hint: they don’t... not exactly) How can I connect to groups who are working to improve maternal & child health? Come hear answers to all of these questions and more at the St. Luke’s City Impact Symposium on Maternal & Child Health, where expert speakers will share the latest statistics, research, and actions around this topic. A hands-on service project and guided prayer opportunity will help us take action. For more information and to register visit: stlukesumc.com/cityimpact

Opening Hymn | Help Us Accept Each Other #560 (4vs)

Prayer of Confession / Assurance of Pardon

All: Loving God, you are always ready to forgive our sins, but we are much less eager to forgive those with whom we disagree or those we feel have wronged us. Forgive us for how we may escalate conflict rather than work for unity. Forgive how we resist your call to be ambassadors of reconciliation. Hear us as we bring our own prayers to you...

Leader: Hear the good news! God is ready to forgive our sins and calls us to bring his forgiveness to others. In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven!

All: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
