PRAYER OF CONFESSION Rev. David Williamson God of righteousness, we confess that we would rather sing hosanna among a cheering crowd, than stand up for our convictions in the face of an angry mob. It is easier to dine with you in a moment of celebration, than to stay awake and watchful with you in the time of your distress. We would rather fancy ourselves as your faithful followers, than admit to ourselves how easily we might betray you with a kiss or deny you with an oath if the pressure was really put on us. Forgive our fickle faith, heal our hesitant hearts. Deepen our irresolute discipleship that we might follow wherever you might lead … (Silent prayer) Leader: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
