UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION Rev. Eric Burton-Krieger

IMPOSITION OF ASHES Music during imposition:

Holy God, in the light of your holiness we see ourselves as we really are. We confess that we are people of impure thoughts and unclean lips; we think too highly of ourselves and too little of others. We cling so tightly to the treasures of this world that we cannot open our hands to receive blessings from above. Our feet follow the paths of sin; we wander so far astray that we become strangers to righteousness. Forgive us, and set us again on the path that leads to life. Deal with us not as we deserve, but according to your mercy; not because we are worthy but because you are gracious. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

* standing, as able

Merciful God (Sign us with ashes) Come and Fill Create in Me a Clean Heart Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God Hear our Prayer

* LENTEN CHARGE Rev. David Williamson

* CONCLUDING SONG Come and Journey with the Savior | Words on Screen

* BENEDICTION * POSTLUDE

As we grow in our prayer life and experience deeper connection to God, I pray we will all feel closer to God, experience greater fulfillment in our prayer life, understand how to receive direction from God and even appreciate the value of not feeling close to God. I hope you will make worship a high priority this season. But I also hope you will join a small group. The worship services will be meaningful. Yet, connecting in a small group will make the 40-days transforming, as we hear God’s voice through one another. So, if you have not already signed up to be part of a Lenten Small Group, I encourage you to take that opportunity after worship today in the Narthex. Groups begin Feb. 14, and will meet briefly after worship tonight. Prayer and people together is a combination that will make this the most important 40 days of the year.

Pastor Rob

SMALL GROUPS GATHER | After Worship If you have signed up for a small group that is new to you, and your group will be meeting here at St. Luke’s, please stop by the the Narthex after worship to get acquainted. If you are newly part of a group that will be meeting off campus, please look in the Fellowship Hall for your host. Hosts will have signs with their names on them. If you have not signed up for a small group, find help for that in the Narthex.
