Sermon Title: “Does the Bible Really Say... Women Should Be Quiet in Church?”

OUR Clergy

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:33b-35 As in all the churches of the saints, women should be silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as the law also says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. 1 Timothy 2:11-15 Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty. Galatians 3:28 There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis Project March 7-8 and 14-15 • 8AM-2:30PM St. Luke’s is partnering to rehab the home of Stephanie Eppert who was critically injured and lost two children in a fire last fall. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal,
whose holy faith let us now declare: We believe in the one God, maker and ruler of all things,
the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh,
our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior of the world
We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength.
We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the life of love and prayer,
and in grace equal to every need.
We believe in the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments
as the sufficient rule both of faith and of practice.
We believe in the Church as the fellowship, for worship and for service,
of all who are united to the living Lord.
We believe in the kingdom of God as the divine rule in human society,
in the final triumph of righteousness, and in the life everlasting. Amen.
