OUTREACH & JUSTICE FREEDOM SCHOOL: MEALS, TRAINING, AND ENRICHMENT $45,000 As a CDF Freedom School site, St. Luke's provides a 6-week summer literacy and cultural enrichment program for 80-90 first through eighth grade scholars in our community. This program (valued at over $1500/scholar) is offered at no cost to families. In addition to student scholarships, you can provide support in the following specific ways: Mealtime includes lunch service with a variety of fresh, nutritious options prepared by our Summer Chef and kitchen volunteers. Help provide a hot, homemade breakfast and lunch for scholars + staff everyday for 6 weeks. $20,000 Help equip summer staff and volunteers with training on emotional CPR and social emotional learning, along with on-site social work support to meet the specific needs of some at-risk scholars. $15,000 Afternoon Enrichment includes bus service and entrance fees for off-site field trips and on-site experiences. $10,000

FLOOD BUCKETS

$30,000 When disaster strikes in the U.S., the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) responds, often by sending hundreds of cleaning kits (a.k.a. flood buckets) into affected areas to assist families with the cleanup. Help us provide supplies for 400 expanded cleaning kits (approx. $75/kit).

LUKE'S LEADERS COMMUNITY EXPERIENCES

$12,000 Luke's Leaders provides leadership development training to enrolled middle schoolers in Washington Township. These students have great leadership potential, but little opportunity to develop it. Your support helps us provide family meals each week, transportation from school, and service opportunities and field trips.

CHRISTMAS OFFERING

Each year we are grateful for the generosity of our congregation in sharing their talents and their financial gifts. At year's end, we appreciate those who are able to give a gift to St. Luke’s during the Christmas season. These contributions continue to support the ministries as we end the current year, as well as the unexpected needs for St. Luke’s in the year ahead.

MIDTOWN OUTDOOR SPACE CREATED FOR GATHERINGS

$15,000 For Midtown, improvements on the outdoor area beside the main entrance are needed to make that a functional and fun gathering space. This would include new surfacing, furniture, possibly a pergola-type feature for shade, and any other comfortable additions.

ST. LUKE’S NORTH INDY ENERGY SAVINGS FOR LIGHTING

$30,000 Replacement of the outdated fluorescent lighting systems in the east wing. This is a continuation of the effort to upgrade lighting toward energy efficiency. This work will qualify for a substantial rebate form AES Power Company.

RECORDING STUDIO

$25,000 To better support the North Indy and Midtown campuses and the Online Community, the Communications Department is seeking to build-out an in-house recording studio where we can create engaging content in an efficient manner with high production value.

MINISTRY NEEDS CARE: GRIEF SHARE SCHOLARSHIPS $1,000 Scholarships for book materials offered to those experiencing grief and who have registered for the Grief Share course.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR VBS AND PROGRAM EXPENSES

$12,000 Scholarships for 100 kids at $85 each plus additional funding for VBS support.

KIDS MINISTRY AREA UPDATES

$2,000 We would like to do some small (but extra) updates to the Clubhouse and small group rooms/hallway décor to create a more updated, impactful, and personal space and experience for kids and families.

BLINDS AND OUTDOOR SEATING

$6,000 The Student Ministry would like to upgrade their programming areas. The Lodge at North Indy needs new blinds in many of the rooms. Additionally, the Student Ministry would love some updated outdoor seating to accommodate outside meetings for small groups.

UNITED METHODIST AFRICA FORUM

A key issue for General Conference will be what happens among international delegates, particularly in Africa, who could sway decisions. There is a very important conference taking place in Tanzania in January to help delegates prepare for General Conference. Delegates from across that vast continent are significantly challenged to be able to afford this travel. Funds raised will be donated to support these travel efforts.

MAINSTREAM UMC

An important advocacy group working on legislation for General Conference to clear the way for full inclusion in the United Methodist Church.
