PRAYER CONCERNS
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Morning Has Broken | arr. Brant Adams (8AM) Jim Butz, trumpet

* CREED
Leader: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare: All: We believe in the one God, maker and ruler of all things, the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love. We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior of the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the life of love and prayer, and grace equal to every need. We believe in the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments as the sufficient rule both of faith and of practice. We believe in the Church as the fellowship, for worship and for service, of all who are united to the living Lord. We believe in the kingdom of God as the divine rule in human society, in the final triumph of righteousness, and in the life everlasting. Amen. * GLORY TO GOD | No. 70 * GREETING ONE ANOTHER
* PRAISE TO GOD | No. 95
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise God all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen
PREPARATION FOR PRAYER
MESSAGE What is Our Birthright? | Rev. David Williamson
COMMUNION All: We do not presume to come to this your table, merciful Lord, trusting in our own goodness, but in your unfailing mercy. We thank you for your presence in this meal and for offering us your unconditional acceptance and love. We surrender ourselves and our concerns into your loving hands. In Christ’s name, Amen.
HYMNS DURING COMMUNION This is My Song | No. 437 I Come With Joy | No. 617 * BENEDICTION
POSTLUDE Psalm 19 | Benedetto Marcello
* OFFERTORY PRAYER
SCRIPTURE | Genesis 25:24-34 Chad Bocock (8AM) Susan Loomis (9:15AM) Janet Anderson (11AM) When her time to give birth was at hand, there were twins in her womb. The first came out red, all his body like a hairy mantle; so they named him Esau. Afterward his brother came out, with his hand gripping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
Notes
When the boys grew up, Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents. Isaac loved Esau, because he was fond of game; but Rebekah loved Jacob.
Once when Jacob was cooking a stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was famished. Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stuff, for I am famished!” (Therefore he was called Edom.) Jacob said, “First sell me your birthright.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
Rev. David Williamson (8 & 9:15AM) Rev. Kim King (11AM)
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank, and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
