PRAYER TIME & THE LORD’S PRAYER Rev. Kim King

Sunday | July 12, 2015 PRELUDE Intrada | Grayston Ives Charles Manning, organ * HYMN

Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise | No. 103

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

CHILDREN’S MESSAGE (9:15AM)

* CREED

Leader: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare: All: We believe in the one God, maker and ruler of all things, the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love. We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior of the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the life of love and prayer, and grace equal to every need. We believe in the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments as the sufficient rule both of faith and of practice. We believe in the Church as the fellowship, for worship and for service, of all who are united to the living Lord. We believe in the kingdom of God as the divine rule in human society, in the final triumph of righteousness, and in the life everlasting. Amen. * GLORY TO GOD | No. 70 * GREETING ONE ANOTHER

ANTHEM Oh God, You Are My God | Fernando Ortega (8AM) MaryEllen St. Angelo

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM (9:15 & 11AM)

ANNOUNCEMENTS OFFERTORY ANTHEM How Great Thou Art | arr. Mannings (8AM) Charles Manning, organ Sing Praise to God | arr. Mack Wilberg (9:15 & 11AM) Chancel Choir * PRAISE TO GOD | No. 95

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise God all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen

Leah and brought her to Jacob; and he went in to her. When morning came, it was Leah! And Jacob said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Did I not serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?” Laban said, “This is not done in our country—giving the younger before the firstborn. Complete the week of this one, and we will give you the other also in return for serving me another seven years.” Jacob did so then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel as a wife. So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah. He served Laban for another seven years.

MESSAGE The Origins of Wedlock or Gridlock? | Rev. Rob Fuquay * HYMN

When Love is Found | No. 643 (vs. a, 3, 4, 5) * BENEDICTION

* PRAYER OF DEDICATION

Rev. Kim King

SCRIPTURE | Genesis 29:16-30 Ellen Hostetler (8AM) Lauren Talbert (9:15AM) Tom Elam (11AM)

Notes

Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. Leah’s eyes were lovely, and Rachel was graceful and beautiful. Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.” So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.

Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my time is completed.” So Laban gathered together all the people of the place, and made a feast. But in the evening he took his daughter
