ANNOUNCEMENTS

Rev. Eric Burton-Krieger Leader: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare: All: We believe in the one God, maker and ruler of all things, the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love. We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior of the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the life of love and prayer, and in grace equal to every need. We believe in the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments as the sufficient rule both of faith and of practice. We believe in the Church as the fellowship for worship and for service, of all who are united to the living Lord. We believe in the kingdom of God as the divine rule in human society, in the final triumph of righteousness, and in the life everlasting. Amen. * GLORY TO GOD | No. 70 * GREETING ONE ANOTHER

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM (9:15AM) Rev. David Williamson; Rev. Kim King * standing, as able

OFFERTORY ANTHEM Now Sing We Joyfully Unto God | arr. Ovid Young Ken Knowles & Gary Dyer, vocalists (8AM) Jubilate Deo | Benjamin Britten Chancel Choir (9:15 & 11AM) * PRAISE TO GOD

Alleluia! Alleluia! (sung to LASST UNS ERFREUEN - “All Creatures of Our God and King”) * OFFERTORY PRAYER

SCRIPTURE | John 2:1-11 (NRSV) Becky Sondergroth (8AM) Leanne Jackson (9:15AM) Janet Anderson (11AM) The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”

“Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

MESSAGE Hidden in Plain Sight | Rev. David Williamson
