Outreach of the Month
Under Age 50?
Each month, St. Luke’s will promote and support a different local or global partnership, giving you the opportunity to share your time, talents and/or treasure. Our March Outreach of the Month is Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County. We are excited to help make a difference in our community and in the life of the Davis family in Westfield. St. Luke’s has made a commitment to take on the expense of the home. Each Sunday this month you will have a chance to leave your mark on the Davis home. We will have the OSB boards in the West Passage that will be used to build their home -- our goal is to get 7000 handprints. If you want to keep your hands clean, you may make a donation and place it in the offering basket (made payable to St. Luke’s with “Habitat” on the memo line) or donate at www.stlukesumc.com. We will begin construction in August. For more info on how you can help, contact Todd Hockemeyer at tmhockemeyer@gmail.com.
Under age 50 adults are invited to bring their ponderings, their questions regarding faith and ultimate concerns and personal needs for a dialogue with other seekers. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. They will not follow a stranger, but they will run from him because they do not know the voice of strangers.’ Jesus used this figure of speech with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.
