The following is a list of events occuring today at St. Luke’s. For other events and upcoming information, pick up a COMMUNION MONTHLY, available at the end of the pews and at the Information Desk in the Narthex.

April Outreach of the Month Fletcher Place Community Center is the St. Luke’s Outreach of the Month for April. FPCC has a long history of being in ministry on the southeast side of Indianapolis. Throughout each month, you may find a St. Luke’s Outreach team serving breakfast, dinner or working in the food pantry. During the summer, FPCC sponsors, “Art in the City.” Art in the City is a daily summer program for students (K-12) to learn the gift of creativity. Teachers from the Herron School of Art assist students in a hands-on experience of creating many different mediums of art. Some of the artwork created this summer will be on display in our art gallery this fall. Our financial contributions will go toward helping this important ministry for children to thrive. If you would like to assist as a counselor during the summer or help prepare lunches, please contact Don Cochran at dcochran@cdsins.com.

PBJ for Hunger The Garden, St. Luke’s satellite ministry, invites you to help them prepare PB&J sandwiches and pack lunches today in the Great Hall from Noon-3PM. The food will be given to those in need in our community. Donations are also needed. If you can, please bring some of the following: peanut butter, jelly, baggies, plastic gloves, paper lunch bags, snack cups (applesauce, fruit, pudding), individual bags of chips, granola bars.

April Communion Monthly The newest issue is available now in the stands by the main doors and in the Narthex, as well as in the church office, and it is always available at www.stlukesumc.com to download and share, The Communion Monthly contains all the information you need to get engaged in the church.

NEWS YOU CAN USE UMW Food Drive The St. Luke’s UMW Semi-Annual Food Drive will take place throughout the month of April for four local pantries. Shopping lists of most needed items are available at www.stlukesumc.com and at the Welcome Center, or get one from a UMW member as you leave the service. Monetary donations can be made to St. Luke’s with “food pantry” on the memo line. Food donations will be collected in the wooden bins in the West Passage. If you would like to help deliver food to the pantries, contact Beth EdwardsGoff at 625-2395 or beth.edwardsgoff@yahoo.com.

Pillowcase Dresses for Haiti Please join members of St. Luke’s United Methodist Women in the Parlor from 9-11:30 on Friday, April 12 (rescheduled due to last week’s snow) as we make pillowcase dresses to send to the girls of Haiti. Bring your cutting

shears, sewing machine and a finger food to share. All other supplies will be provided. All skill levels needed. Questions? Email regansummers@hotmail.com.

Half the Sky The first of six Half the Sky events takes place on Wednesday, April 17 in Fellowship Hall. Register today in the West Passage or online for dinner (cost: $10). Registration, music and global Market Place at 6PM, optional dinner at 6:30PM, program (free of charge) from 7-8:30PM. Come to learn, share and take action on behalf of women worldwide through this series, based on the bestselling book Half the Sky. Details can be found on our website or in the April Communion Monthly.

Computer Recycling and E-Waste Drive St. Luke's Green Ministry will host a community computer collection and electronic waste recycling drive on Saturday, April 13, from 9AM-1PM in the front parking lot. Bring anything with a cord. Small fee to recycle TVs.

Italian Tour Concert Show your support for members of our Chancel Choir and hear some of the music they will be performing on their upcoming Italy tour (April 28-May 5) on Sunday, April 21 at 3PM in the Sanctuary. The concert is free of charge; invite your friends to experience this inspirational music. A freewill offering will support the Interfaith Hunger Initiative and St. Luke’s Music Ministries.

Kids Against Hunger More good stuff happening on Sunday, April 21: from 4:30 -6:30PM in the Great Hall, we will partner with Kids Against Hunger to help prepare 20,000 meals. We will help pack highly nutritious, life-saving meals for malnourished and hungry children and their families in Indiana and abroad. Families of all ages are welcome to join us. Side by Side Orchestra All high school, middle, and jr. high school instrumentalists, presently playing in a school ensemble and/or studying privately, are invited to join the St. Luke’s Orchestra on Sunday, April 21, for all three worship services (8:15, 9:30 & 11AM). Rehearsal will be Thursday, April 18, at 7:15PM in the Sanctuary. Music will be available several weeks in advance.
