Final Midwest Mission Trip Meeting

Accept Pastor Rob's challenge to reach out and do something small for a neighbor, a friend, in your church community or in your neighborhood, for someone close or someone far away in God’s glory and share the greatness! An informational meeting for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center work trip will be Sunday, September 8 at 10:40AM in Room N101/102. The trip dates are September 29-October 4. They will pack disaster relief items and organize donations received to MMDC. Direct questions to Marge Butler at 257-6130, Bobbutler2@comcast.net.

Children's Music Registration and information for Children’s Music/Choir Programs is available at the St. Luke’s website www.stlukesumc.com. Check the Communion Monthly for rehearsal times and schedule. On Sunday, September 8 at 10:30AM, there is a Parent Orientation (Place: TBA). On Sunday, September 15, there is an Open House for interested parents and prospective members, at 8:50AM for children ages 3 1/2-5 and 10:30AM for children in grades K–5, the Children’s Music Room E208. NEWS YOU CAN USE New Adult Ed Classes Starting Soon BE STILL AND KNOW—A 4-week class perfect for learning how to pray with the scriptures. Class is from Noon to 1PM on Wednesdays, September 4, 11, 18, and 25 in Spiritual Life Center. Book is available in the bookstore. Sharon Harvey and Ted Bradshaw, facilitators. Register online. ••• INVITATION TO THE OLD TESTAMENT—8-week intro to OT starting September 19. Class will meet on Thursdays, 10-11:30AM or 7-8:30PM. 25 minutes daily homework is recommended. Habitat Build Please join us on Sunday, September 8 at 1PM for the Davis Home Dedication at 11002 N. College Ave, Carmel, IN. The Davis family will receive the keys to their home built by St. Luke's UMC and Arbor Homes with Habitat for Humanity. Thank you to everyone who left their fingerprints on this project either through donations or sweat. We look forward to the celebration!

Youth Kick Off Party: September 8, 6-8PM Join us September 8 from 6-8PM for our Fall Kick Off Party. It will be a great evening for fun and fellowship for all in grades 6-12. There will be pizza, inflatable games, and live music by the band Alanna Story. After celebrating the start of another exciting fall there will be programming for high school and junior high students. Doors open at 5:30PM. Remember to invite your friends!

Family Camping Weekend Come join us at beautiful Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, IN, for St. Luke’s annual Family Camping Weekend. Father’s Grace Group Did you know that, within two years of their divorce, studies show that only 13% of men sustain regular contact with their children? "A Father's Grace" is a circle of dads dealing with isues of divorce. Our hope is end the cycle of isolation for men and assist them in redefining themselves and the dads they hope to be in their children's lives. There will be two six-week groups offered this fall: Tuesday mornings, 7:30-8:45AM, starting September 17; the second will be on Thursday evenings, 4:45-6PM, starting on September 19. Contact David Williamson at williamsond@stlukesumc.com to reserve a space or to learn more. Spots are limited to no more than 10 men/group.
