TODAY’S SPECIAL EVENTS

JANUARY 27, 2013

The following is a list of events occuring today at St. Luke’s. For other events and upcoming information, pick up a COMMUNION MONTHLY, available at the end of the pews and at the Information Desk in the Narthex.

IMPACT Parenting Conference Sign Up This year’s IMPACT Parenting Conference takes place Saturday, February 23, 8:30AM-1PM. Our keynote speaker is Dan Webster, author of KidUnique. The conference is not just for parents! If there’s a kid in your life you care about, they need someone to help them discover how great they are, how gifted they are and how bright a future they can have. YOU can be that adult! The message of KidUnique is equally appropriate for anyone who works with or cares about the next generation. In addition to the keynote address, we’ve custom designed our breakout sessions to appeal to a variety of audiences. Our hope is that this conference will reach across generations of our church, with multiple tracks designed for grandparents, youth workers and mentors, and of course parents of all ages. Register today at the table in the East Passage, or online at www.stlukesumc.com/impact. Childcare provided.

Lenten Small Group Sign Up The response to last week’s initial sign up for Lenten Small Groups was so overwhelming, we are excited to have this opportunity to announce additional groups that have just formed this week. See today’s insert for all the current options, which you may fill out and drop at the tables in the West or East Passages this morning, or take home to remind yourself to sign up online. If you would be willing to host a group, please contact Susan Fuquay at fuquays@ stlukesumc.com. We are especially in need of hosts for groups in the 20s, 30s and 40s age ranges.

February Communion Monthly In honor of Valentine’s Day being in the month of February, and asking the forgiveness of one Mr. Will Shakespeare, we offer this new inspirational quote: “If spiritual growth be the stuff of love, read on!” Don’t leave today without a copy of the February Communion Monthly. Share it with someone you love, or who mayhaps you want to have love you . . . Wethinks thou dost taketh our point.

Order Super Bowl Pizzas Today St. Luke’s Youth are taking orders for handmade pizzas that will be ready to pick up and take home on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3. Stop by the table in the West Passage this morning your last chance to pre-order. Pizzas are $10 each; samples and a wide variety of options are available. Proceeds help St. Luke’s youth pay for mission trips, retreats and other activities.
