Welcome to the August Eventing Academy.
We’ve been fortunate to have had a slightly milder Summer than some years. Just this week we experienced several days only in the mid-eighties, and we have received lots of rain ensuring perfect footing for cross country While we had more rain and wind than expected Monday night, the grounds crew was hard at work this week and everything is ready for you and your horse(s).
Looking ahead, Stable View is the host to several championships within the next year We’re hosting the TIP Championships October 6th-8th May 4th and 5th, 2024 we are hosting the USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Championships. If you don’t have a team yet, you have until February 15th to form one with USEA. In the meantime, take advantage of Oktoberfest which serves as a team challenge. This is the perfect way to prepare for the spring championships This weekend horse and rider comfort is a priority. There will be a misting station for the horses, an air-conditioned rider’s lounge, and coolers by all the rings with cold water and soda. We are running three dressage rings with the goal to get you and your horse out of the heat sooner.
We wish you and your horse the best of luck this weekend We hope to see you at TIP, Oktoberfest, and the USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Championships.

Students must list their trainer on their forms. Each student will count as one point. At the end of the Series, the top three trainers with the highest student attendance will receive 1st - 3rd cash awards of $500, $300, and $200, respectively.

FREE TO BEE
Having started in early spring with five nucleus colonies (also known as "nucs") from a local bee supplier, Stable View's bees have grown to eleven, almost twelve, hives with healthy queens Over the summer, we have supported the bees' efforts to build up and prepare for winter. Our goal is to contribute to healthy pollinators in our area, and share the sweet fruits of their labor!
A BIRDER'S PARADISE
This time last year, Stable View had one resident Red-Cockaded Woodpecker Today, we have ten (six adults and four juveniles)! Additionally, by increasing our number of nest boxes we have helped many of our feathered friends thrive: this year, we have fledged 200+ Eastern Bluebirds (an increase of 50% compared to last year); a pair of Eastern Screech Owls fledged two young; and the American Kestrels fledged all five nestlings from the same nest box as in previous years
According to our expert, Mark Pavlosky of MPJ Wildlife, we expect to observe many migrant species working their way South early this fall.
We look forward to hosting bird watchers who wish to view native, rare, or endangered species on their lists!
HISTORICALLY, "A GATHERING PLACE"
Set out afoot–or ahoof–on our 15 miles of marked trails, each named in honor of local Native American tribes, where you may see evidence of our prescribed fires, which increase plant diversity, perpetuate endangered species, allow wildlife easier access to food sources, restore nutrients back into the soil, and reduce the risk of wildfires
