Safe and Sound A Story about Child Protection and Human Trafficking At CCPCR, we work to make sure all kids get to stay with their families, safe and sound!
In many countries, families may be very poor
So children are made to go to work at a job
Sometimes their boss is very mean to them Sometimes their boss takes them to jobs far away from home, and they don’t get to see their family
Many children don’t like leaving their families to work, and want to go home
Anti-Trafficking shelters like the Cambodian Center for the Protection of Children’s Rights helps these children. They help kids stop working, and lets children live in the shelter while they find the children’s families.
When at the shelter kids go to school, and take special classes in subjects like English, computers, even dance and yoga!
People from the shelter go to the children’s villages, find their families, and tell them why their children shouldn’t work. Sometimes they help the parents to find good jobs, so they won’t be as poor.
When they are ready, children go back to their families. They are happy to be home, and their parents promise not to make them go back to work.
I think being at home with my family is best! Do you?
