BY EUGENE O’NEILL Eugene O’Neill’s warmest, most delightful play is an authentic portrait of a Connecticut childhood - complete with moonlit beaches, firecrackers, booze and a powerfully dark undertow. Over Independence Day weekend, teenager Richard Miller navigates young love in his idyllic home town. A staple in the US but rarely seen in the UK, O’Neill’s prelude to A Long Day’s Journey into Night is an essential part of the life’s work of this most innovative of American playwrights. THE TRIAL BY FRANZ KAFKA ADAPTED BY NICK GILL

Rory Kinnear stars in this classic, timeless tale of ordinary terror by Franz Kafka. Josef K’s thirtieth birthday begins with a knock on his door from two sinister agents. They’re from an unidentified agency, here to arrest him for unidentified crimes. But this is no birthday prank - this is life or death. So begins K’s dark descent into a waking nightmare of bizarre humiliations and compulsive procedures. The Olivier Award-winning Kinnear (Hamlet, Skyfall) leads the cast of this new production, directed by Richard Jones and designed by Miriam Buether in a new adaptation by Nick Gill. BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE “Stars, hide your fires, let not light see my black and deep desires.” Following their acclaimed collaboration on Medea at the National Theatre, Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin create a new version of Shakespeare’s supernatural tragedy. BY CARYL CHURCHILL Bernard thought he was an only child. At the age of 35 he learns the shocking truth: he is just one of a number of clones. He and his father both confront epic questions of identity, intimacy and belonging.

MADE IN CHINA. SOLD IN BRITAIN. WORN BY YOU. From the factory floor to the catwalk, from Shanghai to London, World Factory weaves together stories of people connected by the global textile industry.

Caryl Churchill pushes the boundaries of science and ethics with an astonishing twist on the dynamics of the father/son relationship.

Riffing on our awareness of mass production and vulture capitalism, Zoë Svendsen and Simon Daw invite you to play a provocative game. Which card will you draw? Will you be an ethical factory owner? Or will profits always come first? In the rag trade, can anyone ever really win?
