Ollie Buckley
August 22, 2007November 4, 2024
“Ollie was a young trans male who recently passed away. He not only fought the battles of this world for so long but did it with a smile on his face and a shoulder for those around him to cry on. Ollie was loved an supported by family and friends, but the unkindness of this world and the mental hardships he suffered became too much. He created an online bookstore called ”Buckley’s Books” and focused it on LGBTQ+ books. It was a safe space to let people vent about their own battles. Ollie was an amazing young man who loved, cared, and respected those around him. We should all be able to learn from Ollie and lend a hand to those around us, no matter their race, religion, political beliefs, opinions, and actions.
Ollie’s main goal in life was to love others. Not only did he accomplish this goal, he exceeded it. He not only loved people but taught, listened, and respected them as well. He taught those around him not only to love unconditionally, but also about LGBTQ+ topics. Understanding, supporting, and teaching others coping skills for their mental health were very important to him. He used his love for books, art, music and poetry to navigate through the unkindness of the world, reminding us all how to appreciate nature and the love from this world, and how to keep an open mind and a strong heart. Ollie loved everything and anything (except orangutans and feet).”
