e m o c Wel & HARPENDEN
Now in its 8th year, the St Albans & Harpenden Food & Drink Festival is back with a vengeance… and a vegetable or two.
This year’s festival showcases the fantastic range of food, drink and produce 22 SEPT TO available throughout the district, as well as giving 5 OCTOBER you access to workshops, behind-the-scenes experiences and tastings. We want you to get the pots and pans out, get your hands sticky, and get your taste buds tingling! Go out there and learn something new, taste something different and find out what culinary treasures are on your doorstep…
2015
A new venture too, for our junior chefs and chefs-tobe, is the #KidsCookalong. We want every under 16 in the district to have the opportunity to enjoy making and eating good, healthy food. Get your young person into the kitchen with a child-friendly recipe celebrating seasonal, local, good food. See the recipe on page 18 and join us on 26 September in the Market to bag your ‘pound a bowl’ ingredients! Bakers young and old can also contribute to the BakeOff from 26 September - 2 October at the Bakehouse. Will you be baking or buying? Daily cakes in different categories will be vying for bragging rights in aid of various local charities. See page 20 for more.
