Antique patinas and waxes, material effects, vivacious colors and pastes…a parallel universe created by magical transformations of ideas that take shape now opens! These new products and techniques are hard to resist!

ACRYLICS (Allegro and Vivace)

High coverage, ready-to-use acrylics which allow the color to spread evenly with only layer.

BLENDING GEL

Retardant and transparent medium. It is used in this manual mixed with Granelli di Luna powder and Allegro acrylics to obtain original decorations.

OPLĂ CLAY

Special synthetic clay suitable for the modeling of small details. Air dries, it does not require baking and it is available in many different colors.

FOGLIA ORO

Very easy to use, spread the Gilding Glue and once it is dry, apply the sheets, fragments or flakes of Foglia Oro to create a metallic effect.

PAPERS

There are many types of papers available: Classic Decoupage Paper: bright colored paper, easy to cut and paste. Rice Decoupage Paper: can be cut or torn and is very resistant. Scrapbooking Paper: sheets printed on the front and back with patterns matching each other.

Special Effe cts

In this manual you can find projects which involve new techniques, and the use of new products combined with Stamperia Classics such as decoupage papers, acrylics and brushes.

PRIMER

It facilitates the adherence of acrylics and the spread of the paint. It is available both spray and liquid versions.

FINISHES The classic finishes are available in liquid and spray: shiny, super-shiny, satin or matt.

STENCIL

The stencils are available in many designs. They are made of a flexible and resistant material. The repositionable glue is necessary for the neatness required during the use of the stencil, it enables one to keep the stencil still while painting and makes it easy to remove it from the surface after the use. BRUSHES AND PLASTER The choice of the brush is fundamental: drop or liner brushes for small details, oblique-tipped brushes for shades, flat brushes for large surfaces, smudge and sponge brushes to fade colors. The spatulas, however, are useful for the spread of various pastes.

Using a flat brush, evenly distribute a layer of white Primer over the entire surface of the MDF oval.

2

Cut out several stripes from the fabric and soak them in equal amounts of TexArt and powder blue acrylic.

3

Distribute the soaked strips of fabric on the surface of the oval creating some small pleats and letting an oval space in the center free. This oval space will then be occupied by the portrait.

Ancient Portrait

These stencils are special since they are 2 mm thick, they enable and facilitate the creation of decorations in relief with the use of the Stamperia pastes.

4

4

Using the trowel spatula, create the decor by delicately distributing the Pasta Soffice from the outer margins of the stencil towards the inner area.

5

Spread the Charcoal acrylic on the wooden shape.

5

6

Cut out the portrait from the decoupage paper, dampen it with some water and position it inside the oval using the Decoupage Glue. Spread a ‘top coat’ of Decoupage Glue on the entire surface.

7

Recreate a part of the woman’s dress by shading the outer margins of the decoupage.

6

8

Spray the back of the stencil with a thin layer of Repositionable Glue. Set the stencil on the creation and lightly paint it with the white acrylic in order to create a wall-paper effect, as seen in the picture.

7 CerAntica is a thick wax which gives a metallic or iridescent effect. Once it is applied it is only removable if the appropriate solvent is used. CerAntica is ideal for highlighting embossed elements. It can be spread using a cloth or a brush. The tools used during the procedure should be cleaned with the solvent. CerAntica is available in 8 colors.

Using a dry and clean brush, spread a layer of Step 1 of Glass Cracklé on the round shape.

10

9

Wait for the Step 1 Cracklé to dry. Once it is completely transparent, delicately spread Step 2 Cracklé with your fingertips. Let dry.

11

After a few hours, the surface will start to crack. At this point, spread a layer of Patina Anticante to highlight the cracks.

12

10

Using the Thin-Neck Glue, glue the lace on the lower part of the round shape. Glue the round shape on the center of the oval using the Extra Forte Glue. With the ‘standarino’ brush spread a layer of white acrylic on the pleats created by the fabric, whitening the entire surface.

Unevenly apply the Universal Step 1 Pasta CracklĂŠ with a clean and dry brush and let dry.

9 Color Angel are metallic colors which can be applied directly from the bottle since this has a special spout. This will make it easier to create details in relief. It can also be used with a brush, just like an acrylic color. It will easily come off of brushes by rinsing them with water. Available in 28 colors.

Spread a coat of White Pasta CracklĂŠ with a flat brush. On certain areas, mix it to the Silver Color Gel. After a few hours the cracks will start to form.

7

8 Color Gel can be used on all surfaces, especially on clear ones like glass. It can be applied directly from the bottle for designs in relief or can be spread with brushes and spatulas. After 24 hours these colors become water resistant. Shake well before use. Available in 14 colors.

Smudge some areas along the edges of the small canvas with the Star Gold-colored Angel using a sponge tampon. Glue the small canvas to the large by using the Extra Forte Glue.

12

13

14

Pasta Cracklé is ideal for any surface. How to use: 1) Apply an acrylic paint as a first coat and let it dry. 2) Apply a coat of Step 1 and let dry for 1-2 without a hairdryer. 3) Apply Step 2 (black or white, the white can be lightly colored with max. 20% of Allegro acrylics). The crackle will start to take shape after 4/6 hrs. When using a hairdryer step 2 dries in 10 minutes. Step 2 will start to crack showing the color chosen in step 1. If an abundant amount of Step 2 was applied the cracks are going to be larger, if the coat of step 2 is thin, the cracks will be thinner and more dense. The time needed for these products to dry largely depends on climate (+/- humidity) and on the thickness of the product. Wash the brushes used with water.
