Felt is a fabric made of natural fiber, it has neither plot nor warp. It is not a real fabric but it is produced with the felting of the fibers and the material that composes it is commonly carded wool. Precisely for this reason it is typically warm, light and waterproof material. The Décor Felt is printed, yet another brilliant Stamperia idea: an exclusive product, a revolution for all experts in creative sewing, a most useful ally for those who are beginners and a must for your decorations...Even for spring ones. Forget the plain uni-color fabrics: you are receiving a riot of color and merriment, of course, fashionable and always in line with the latest trends. There are many different patterns: ethnic, floral, polka dots and stripes or vintage Parisian style patterns, writing, kids, butterflies and kittens. The challenge to create simple combinations of clothing, jewelry, handbags, very original and unique accessories of all kinds is now open. It is warm and soft, Décor Felt can be sewn or glued to classic felt and is available in many patterns to mix and match with plain color.

Cutting and Sewing: hand sewing techniques STEP BACk It’s a small point, the strongest points made by hand. The points are like those made by car: regular on the right and superimposed on the reverse. The back stitch is worked from right to left as follows: bring the needle with the thread Step Back on labor law, enter into the tissue at a distance of a few millimeters, 1.5 to 3, behind the point from which it came out of and remove it before the point, at the same distance. Continue like this, inserting and extracting the needle at a distance of half a point behind and in front of the preceding point. On the line the points are all equal and close, while on the reverse side they are twice as long.

Strand point

STRAND POiNT The strand point is quite long, however it is the easiest of the points made by hand. It is used to baste, that is, to hold together two or more layers of fabric when it is necessary to try a piece of clothing or before putting it through the sewing machine in order that everything remains in place.

DAiSy POiNT

Launch Point

Used to define a real daisy. The needle goes through the right side of fabric and falls in the same spot, after forming the wire with a small loop around the needle. Pull the needle and attach the noose to the fabric with a dot. STiTCH

Bias cut

Tack

It is a point used for the embroidery through carving. You run from left to right and the thread should remain under the needle. Points can be performed more or less close. When spaced this technique creates a decorative stitch, when the points are very close together, however, it prevents the fabric from fraying: for this it is used for hemming the slots or notches for the fabric. MATTRESS Also called the invisible point, it is a very small spot that should not appear on the work. It is used for the making of edges where the margins of the garment cannot be seen. The hidden point works from right to left: turn back the edge of the rim of about 1 cm, and keep it with your left hand and make a small point, pinching the needle with one or two threads of fabric. Point the needle and the hem to make a small point about half a centimeter from one another. Continue this by alternating the points, one below and one above the hem, without pulling the thread too much.

Fe lt & Creative Nee dlework

LAuNCH POiNT It is generally used for small details.

BiAS CuT In general, this term refers to the perfect bias, i.e. the diagonal of the fabric that forms an angle of 45 째 with the weft and warp. It is obtained by matching the height with the selvage. In this direction the fabric has the maximum elasticity. With strips of cloth cut on the bias, once can finish perfectly rounded edges like edges of bags.

TACk It is another type of strand point: instead of making regular points, one point is short and one is alternatively long. It is used to combine temporary components of tissue that will be needed before the final stitching. Hobby Book

Also, take the 30x3 cm rectangle to flare the upper part of the pocket. Take a 30x30 cm square brown Pannolenci and sew the pocket. Now join the various pieces using the “stitch” point. 4 Using biscotto Allegro Acrylic, paint the wooden pendant, a ball and another circular wooden pendant. With the terra acrylic, however, color another ball and another wooden pendant. Allow to dry and protect with matt water finish. 5 Attach to the wooden décor a felt ball using a “T” nail. 6e7 Drill the large arancio circle with the punch so that you can allow the chain to pass through the hole. Attach the felt circle to the wooden decor. Do the same thing with the big circle and the ethnic texture felt. Again, unite the first two circles of the chain to the second two. 8 Punch the second Décor Felt circle. Pass the cotton thread through it, folding it in half and securing it with a knot. Join the ends of the wire by passing through the hole of the wooden pendants. Now pass the wire through a hole in a coconut button and stop it with a knot between the wood pendant and the button. Drill holes with the punch in the circle of the pannolenci flower so that the waxed thread can pass through it. Fold it in half and pass the thread through the ‘free hole’ of the coconut button. Finally, stop the thread with a knot between the circle and the button. 9 Drill holes with the punch through the last two circles to unite them with the rings of the chain. Using waxed cotton thread, create a loop large enough for a coconut button to pass through. Place waxed thread in the two previously colored wooden balls. Stop them with one or more knots (if the hole of the ball is too wide a knot is not enough). Then hook the wire into a circle of Ethnic Felt, previously drilled with the punch. Following the sequence of elements in the picture, use the above techniques to build the other side of the necklace.

With the same technique, in combination with the necklace, one can realize two beautiful earrings!

1 On the 50x70 cm Pannolenci grigio, trace the sides of the bag using the paper model . Trim leaving 1 cm from the edge of the drawing in order to sew the various components with the sewing machine. Trace the different circles on the colored felt panels. Once cut, compose them and sew them together (see sample) with the strand point starting from the smaller circle. Also prepare the two patches using the gray felt. Arrange the circles and the patches on one side of the bag and sew with stitch point (for this step, you can also use Vilene). 2 Cut two rectangles that will be used to attach the wooden handles. Sew the two long sides of the rectangle at approximately 3 cm from the top edge using the sewing machine. Do the same with the other side of the bag. 3 Trace on the 50x70 grey felt the measurement of the inferior and superior profiles of the bag. Cut and sew with the sewing machine, the inferior edge of the bag on the decorated side, after having made an opening about 13 cm long also sew the top. Make sure that the bottom overlaps the upper part. Using the sewing machine, also sew the other side of the bag on the edges. 4 Finish the overlapping part of the side edges and the upper opening using the stitch point and the lilla thread. Create a point with a slot at the center of for the button that will be sewn on the opposite side of the opening itself. Spray White Spray Primer on both wooden handles. At this point, with the sponge brush and Angel acrylic paint the handles. Once dry place the handles inside the previously created rectangles of felt and attach to the bag with stitch points. 10
