Let’s face it: commuting is awful. Unless you live a few blocks away from your place of work, you’re going to have to use a vehicle to get there. I’m not a huge fan of driving in general, but add in factors like traffic and all of those jerks on their cell phones (if you’re one of them, stop it.). It’s pretty much my idea of hell. Technology, the wonder that it is, has offered us some new options that I never would have thought of before, and they just might be the perfect solutions to all
of our commuting troubles. Here’s a guide to vehicles that might make your commute more pleasant, varying from larger vehicles for those of you who have to drive long distances, and smaller for those who may only live a mile from their workplace. Unable to sacrifice a car because you have toddlers to tow? A smaller electric vehicle like this Micro Commuter vehicle that Honda is working on might be the answer to your prayers.
1. BOXX Electric Vehicle, $3995 This unique box-shaped vehicle looks like it’s out of the Jetsons, and that makes me extremely happy. BOXX is the first all wheel drive two-wheeled vehicle, which is pretty rad. This little wonder would be a great substitute for a bike or moped.
2. Interceptor Step Through by Pedego, $2495 - Some people, namely hipsters, are very fond of bikes. This electric bike has the classic look of a retrocruiser, but it will get you to where you need to be a lot quicker.
3. Skateboard from Envirosurfer, $110 - For those with a low budget and not a lot of storage space, this classic skateboard is perfect. Plus saying that you skateboard to work pretty much gains you instant street cred. Just don’t wear heels when you’re riding it.
