To the Window, to the Wall

john mcentire There comes a point in every man’s life when he is blessed with a moment of self-reflective clarity. For some, it is a hard truth to face, but the fact remains that your previously coveted Blink-182 and “Animal House” posters now just make you look like a tool. The good news is: you will live. The bad news is: you will feel embarrassed for the rest of your days. The other good news is I have selected a few suggestions to offer in order to make this criticism as productive as possible.

1. “Captain America Torn” by Comic Collage Art - You don’t have to admit to yourself just yet that Andy Warhol is a better investment than Amazing Fantasy #15, but this is a step in the right direction. Do away with your bagged-andboarded hoard and dazzle your guests with a proper piece of pop art. 2. Wall Bull Sculpture by Ben and Kate Gatski from UncommonGoods - Made from abandoned farm equipment, this wall bull is a refreshing take on the classic oil baron staple. 3. “Untitled Hexagon Contruction 3” by Michelle Peterson-Albandoz from Long View Gallery - A solid, simple geometric design goes a long way to satisfying white space tastefully. Similar to some reclaimed furniture designs, Peterson-Albandoz distinguishes herself by approaching wood scraps with an artist’s eye. The subtle color is enough to standout, but subdued enough to meld naturally with a variety of styles.
