Philanthropy

and Community

From the St Andrew’s College Foundation

The St Andrew’s College Foundation serves as a vital pillar of support for the institution’s ongoing growth and development. As stewards of charitable contributions and investments, the Foundation plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial sustainability and advancement of St Andrew’s College.

This report provides an overview of the Foundation’s activities and performance over the past year.

The Foundation’s financial performance for the year ending 31 December 2023, demonstrates notable growth and stability. A valuation of the Foundation portfolio at the end of 2023 revealed a 10 per cent increase, amounting to $1.28 million. This increase raised the total portfolio value to $14.13 million, compared to $12.85 million at the end of 2022. Such growth reflects the effectiveness of the Foundation’s investment strategies and prudent financial management.

Our role as trustees for the Foundation is primarily about the future and what our children’s children will need to navigate their world. Therefore, we recognise the responsibility that we must ensure that those of you who have entrusted us with your donations know that we are indeed looking to the horizon. We remain very confident that the College is in very good hands and students remain the centre of our focus.

The Foundation continues to prioritise strategic investments aimed at advancing the mission and vision of St Andrew’s College. By strategically allocating resources towards key areas such as infrastructure development, faculty support, and scholarships, the Foundation reinforces the College’s position as a leading institution of higher learning. These investments not only enhance the academic experience but also ensure the long-term sustainability and relevance of the College in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.

Through giving to the Foundation, donors are contributing to the cost of scholarships and general long-term well-being of the College. This allows students who, in other circumstances, would not have the opportunity to attend St Andrew’s College and gain an education which will prepare them for their future beyond school in a diverse society.

While it is the role of the College’s Development Office to facilitate the fundraising of funds for the Foundation (as well as for the building projects), the Foundation Board plan to work closely with the Development Office to assist with and support donors.

If you would like to know more about becoming a donor to this crucial part of the College, please contact the St Andrew’s College’s Development Office, on +64 3 940 2021

I would like to thank my fellow Foundation trustees, Matthew Lancaster, Richard Smith, Mark Mulholland, Gordon MacLeod, and Tom Stanley. It is our collective aim to continue to grow the Foundation and the Development Office, and Foundation trustees welcome any queries in this regard.

From the Rector

Cultivating a culture of philanthropy and giving is an essential part of the mission of an independent school, both to generate a sustainable business model into the future and to ensure the values of diversity and inclusion are evidenced within the school community.

In my 17 years at St Andrew’s College, I have been humbled by the generosity of so many in our community. Old Collegians, past parents and current parents have supported numerous initiatives which have enabled over $130 million to be invested into our campus and facilities since 2008. Our current students are enjoying these facilities, just as those who came before them benefited from the work and generosity of previous generations.

I am very mindful that parents are paying for their child’s tuition and there are also many costs associated with co-curricular opportunities. Our parents are often supported by grandparents or other family members, and there is no doubt many make considerable sacrifices to give their child a St Andrew’s College education. Our College continues to operate as efficiently as possible to enable any annual surplus to be invested into future capital projects. All the new facilities over the last 16 years have resulted from sound financial management. However, significant donations, from those who can, have expedited the development of several facilities for the benefit of all current students.

In engaging students, parents, alumni, and staff in philanthropic initiatives we create a culture of giving that benefits not only our own community but also those who come after us, and those who are in a less fortunate position. I am reminded of the verse from Luke 12:48 “to whom much is given, much will be expected.”

There is no doubt many of us at St Andrew’s are in a privileged position. Our students are encouraged through Community Service programmes to support initiatives which teach them the value of giving and helping others. Community service projects, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities, as highlighted in this publication, all continue to make a positive impact both locally and globally.

I am also proud of the strong alumni network we have at St Andrew’s and the strong engagement from our Old Collegians for the many reunions and events. Every year we hold eight to ten events on our campus, plus a few more around the country or overseas. Many Old Collegians have contributed to our Foundation which, through prudent stewardship of funds, support several scholarships enabling students to attend St Andrew’s who otherwise may not enjoy this opportunity.

The generosity of spirit at St Andrew’s is everywhere you look and the gratitude from students for the opportunities they enjoy is also very evident. In 2023 all students and staff have benefited from the generosity of so many. The Year 13 Leavers’ Gift of the carved Māori Pou, Ngā Toi Performing Arts Centre and Gough Family Theatre, and several sports, cultural, academic scholarships or financial assistance are tangible benefits to our College community. Also significant is the positive impact, either financially or through other kinds of support, from the PTA, Old Collegians Association, Ladies’ Circle, Foundation, parent volunteers, and sponsors.

In particular I thank Ben and Pen Gough, Gina Satterthwaite: Fife Foundation, John and Alison Westgarth, the Old Collegians’ Association, and the PTA. All supporters have helped the College to be the thriving community it is today. Just like those who have gone before, our people continue to work together for the greater and collective good.

I extend heartfelt gratitude to Development Co-ordinator, Mel Rissman, and Alumni and Community Relations Co-ordinator, Lisa Clark, for their tireless work in alumni and community engagement.

To all who contributed to St Andrew’s College in 2023, I assure you that you have made a positive difference.

He waka eke noa.

From the Development Office

Throughout 2023, it has been exciting to see construction progress on the much-needed Ngā Toi Performing Arts Centre and Gough Family Theatre, due for completion in the 2024 academic year. This facility will provide a fantastic hub for many students who take part in a wide variety of cultural activities.

At the close of 2023, we can reflect on a year of generosity from our school community with donations to the St Andrew’s College Foundation, Ngā Toi Performing Arts Centre and Gough Family Theatre totalling $505,338.

A total of $50,067 was raised during the 2023 Annual Giving campaign, with these funds being specifically directed towards our new Ngā Toi Performing Arts Centre and Gough Family Theatre. The ticket levy, introduced in 2019, contributed $36,907 and other donations including 20 Theatre Seats and three College Song Notes, contributed $58,000. Out of the 266 seats available, 151 seats have now been sold, indicating strong community support for our performing arts events. Furthermore, seven Gold Song Notes, three Silver Song Notes, and 17 Bronze Song Notes have been sold.

With our ongoing partnership with the Australasian charity So They Can, three per cent of the donations made to St Andrew’s College were directed to So They Can, with a total of $21,451 making a huge difference to life at the Mwikantsi School in Tanzania.

The College also received a generous gift from John (OC 1960) and Alison Westgarth. The first recipient of the Westgarth Scholarship will enter Year 9 in 2024 and a new scholar will be added each year.

Our donor societies remain an important way to recognise our donors. Four new donors have been welcomed into the Strowan Club (gifting to a total of $10,000), one donor moved to our Highland Society (gifting totalling $25,000), and one donor moved to our Thompson Founders’ Circle (gifting totalling $100,000).

In October we were saddened by the passing of George Hight (OC 1955) who was a significant supporter of St Andrew’s College. A private service was held in the Centennial Chapel with five of the ten George Feilding Hight scholars present. The College is indebted to George for his wonderful generosity.

As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and philanthropy, St Andrew’s College actively supports initiatives aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of our broader community. In 2023 we supported the Māia Health Foundation and directed the generous contributions made by our community towards this cause. The St Andrew’s College Development Office is grateful for the continued generosity of our St Andrew’s College Community.

The Sponsorship Programme

We are delighted to report that in 2023, a total of $178,667 was raised from the Sponsorship programme, with the funds raised directed to various sports and cultural activities at the College.

Many existing sponsors have continued their support of this successful programme since it was launched in 2020, alongside new parents and connected businesses, who supported it for the first time in 2023.

The Sponsorship programme is an excellent way for sponsors to target their giving to specific sports and cultural initiatives at St Andrew’s. This support gives the College an extra edge, drives a culture of excellence, and helps students to achieve their best. The Development Office has a key role in the connections between sponsors of this programme and the College.

There are three tiers of sponsorship in the programme; sponsors are able to be recognised or remain anonymous.

Sponsorship of $10,000

Sponsorship of $5000

Sponsorship of $2000

Sponsors are acknowledged on the Thanking our Sponsors page on the College website. Company logos are displayed with a link to their website, and the sport, cultural activity, or event they are sponsoring is also detailed.

We would like to thank all the families and businesses who have supported the Sponsorship programme in many different areas and activities.

Our Community and Our Volunteers

This Philanthropy Report thanks and acknowledges members of the St Andrew’s College community who gave to the College in 2023 through monetary donations, gifts-in-kind, and volunteering. The following articles demonstrate the community of students, volunteers, and donors who give back to the College, help others outside of our community, and who are creating the success of our philanthropic endeavours.

2023 Leavers’ Gift

As is tradition, the Leavers present a gift to St Andrew’s each year, to celebrate and give gratitude to the College. The Leavers of 2023 decided upon a magnificent carved Pou, which has been mounted in the Senior College atrium. This choice was made as the carving symbolised the year group’s diversity and inclusivity, and the legacy left in a space that has been so significant to them.

The carving, measuring approximately 1.2m × 0.75m, is positioned opposite the Senior College reception entrance, alongside a plaque commemorating the Leavers of 2023. The carving represents the rich tapestry of St Andrew’s cultural heritage. This aligns with St Andrew’s ongoing cultural narrative, celebrating both the College’s Māori and Presbyterian Scottish heritage by incorporating elements of both into the carving.

Christchurch-based wood carver, Alex McLeod, generously offered to undertake the carving. He is of both Māori and Scottish descent, and has over 20 years of experience with Māori wood carving and Tā Moko art. To ensure the design truly reflects the year group’s legacy, it was designed in collaboration with Year 13 students from the Māori and Pasifika Group and Te Reo teacher, Pete Westrupp.

The College is grateful for the Leavers and their families’ support of this initiative. The piece was unveiled and blessed at the 2024 Academic Assembly, when many of the Leavers returned, before embarking on their further study or work.

Pipe Band

The St Andrew’s College Pipe Band contributes to many community events each year. The Band was pleased to support the following community events in 2023:

•pipers at various ANZAC Day services throughout Canterbury;

•retirement village recitals and performances;

•Rangi Ruru Girls’ School Founders’ Day Assembly;

•Oarsome O’Fare Rowing.

Pipers also played for various events and functions including reunions, weddings, and funerals.

St Andrew’s College also hosted and sponsored several significant Pipe Band related events:

•Labour Weekend Silver Chanter

Solo Piping Championships;

•Solo Piping local competitions (three);

•Solo Pipe Band Drumming competitions (two);

•The Strowan Gathering.

The Band is also extremely grateful for the significant financial support it received during 2023. Many donations were received to support the Band’s trip to Scotland in 2023. The Band relies heavily upon fundraising events to fund Pipe Band activities. Many volunteers contribute to the Parents and Supporters Committee lead by current parent Renee Brook. This group contributed significantly to fundraising which enabled each Band member to be subsidised for competition trips away, including the Band’s trip to the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow.

The Band is proud of its ongoing contribution to the wider community and very grateful to supporters and contributors to the Pipe Band.

Volunteers and Class Parent Programme

St Andrew’s College appreciates the invaluable contributions of its volunteers, who dedicate their time and energy year-round. This group includes current and former parents, staff members, alumni, and friends of the College. They play a vital role in numerous volunteer groups, including the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Cafeteria team, Old Collegians Association, and Ladies’ Circle, among others.

The College also benefits from the Class Parent programme, a longstanding tradition in the Preparatory School. Here, dedicated parent volunteers from each class organise social events throughout the year, fostering meaningful connections between students, families, teachers, and the broader school community. These gatherings serve as a platform for new families to integrate and build relationships with fellow parents. Meetings for the Preparatory School volunteers are hosted by Preparatory School Receptionist, Kelsey Williams.

The success of the Class Parent programme prompted the introduction of a similar initiative for Year 9 students in 2018.

Led by Development Co-ordinator, Mel Rissman, this programme hosts informative sessions featuring guest speakers from various departments within the Secondary School. In 2023, the Year 9 parent group had the privilege of hearing insights from Year 9 Dean Liz Gormack, Head of Middle School Matt Parr, Rector Christine Leighton, and

Head of Well-being Kerry Larby. Furthermore, the Year 9 parent volunteers organised engaging activities including student and family outings, as well as exclusive parent meetups.

We are grateful to all the volunteers who supported the College in various ways in 2023.

Preparatory School

The Junior Department was grateful for the many parent helpers who supported a variety of events across the year. These included Beach Education during Term 1, Term 4 swimming lessons, and a very special day at Ferrymead. The department-wide inquiry about bees resulted in a Year 3 field trip to the Climate Action Campus Ōtautahi in Avonhead with Kathryn Jer from Clever Little Bees. This outing was extremely well supported by parent help.

In addition, our parent community supported the Junior Department annual Christmas collection for the Christchurch City Mission, by placing generous supplies of food and other essentials under our Christmas tree. We would like to thank Super Shuttle for sending a driver to collect these items and then deliver them to the City Mission on our behalf.

Parental support and expertise were integral to the running of Preparatory sports events during 2023. Triathlon, Duathlon, Canterbury Primary Athletics, Canterbury Primary Swimming are just a few of the events where whānau transported students to and from the events, provided the students with the equipment needed, and demonstrated positive interactions which promoted and grew the children’s confidence.

Again, sincere thanks to Mike Greer and his family for generously funding ski uniforms and jackets for staff and students attending the ISSA Ski Races, Canterbury Primary Schools’ Ski Races, and other competitions during the season. The Greer family also funded the hockey programme providing every player with a St Andrew’s College branded hockey stick bag.

The Preparatory School children who travelled to Queensland, Australia, in 2023 received sponsorship in the form of tour backpacks from RD Petroleum. Sincere thanks to Ben Wilson and the Wilson family. In addition, the students who travelled to the AIMS Games in Tauranga received a sponsored tour backpack from EyeAM. Sincere thanks to Ainsley and the Bainbridge-Smith family.

Once again, our Melanoma Awareness Week, with the ‘Get Spotted’ theme day, was wonderfully supported, with donations of $1100 raised across the Preparatory School.

Clearly, once again, our school community gave generously during 2023. Sincere thanks for this wonderful support.

Community Projects

The Community Service team for 2023 worked consistently throughout the year on many projects. This began with the 1HumanRace in support of So They Can, a month-long fundraising campaign through March. Funds raised for So They Can in 2023:

•$2754 from credit card donations;

•$2205 from So They Can fundraiser;

•$1041 from chapel offerings;

•$1402 from other donations.

St Andrew’s College has always responded with extraordinary generosity in a crisis. $34,741.50 was raised on 23 February 2023 from a Theme Day in response to the Cyclone Gabrielle devastation. The proceeds were given to the New Zealand Red Cross. $1000 from the Middle School offering was gifted to St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Hastings, who were supporting cyclone relief.

In Term 2, our focus was the World Vision’s 40 Hour Challenge. The Community Service team raised $4030.95.

Monies donated throughout the year:

•$140 raised at Cultural Showcase and given to Full Bellies;

•$618.90 raised on Pride Theme Day for Qtopia;

•$53.10 collected at Preparatory School Sunday Chapel Service for World Vision;

•$4030.95 raised through the World Vision

40 Hour Challenge as of 28 August;

•$2332.40 11HFL boys spent a lunchtime having their hair cut for Child Cancer Foundation;

•$392.90 Senior College Sunday Chapel Service offerings for Christchurch City Mission;

•$150 Jack Flanagan (Year 12) business project ‘Peak Clothing’ for Kids Can;

•$500 on Gumboot Friday to support youth mental health;

•$563.30 raised on the Snug Up, Rug Up Theme Day. Clothes were also collected.

To end the year, St Andrew’s College community gave generously towards the Christchurch City Mission Christmas Appeal. Hundreds of gifts were received through the Chapel and a beautiful letter of thanks was received from the City Mission acknowledging the impact this had on the families who received these gifts.

The Support staff at the College donated $415 in lieu of Secret Santa gifts, with $250 donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation and $165 to SPCA New Zealand.

The St Andrew’s College staff donated a further $1118.70 at our Advent Chapel for the City Mission.

PTA

The PTA continues to support the College by managing the Second-hand Uniform Shop, fundraising, and helping at College community functions and events.

2023 was a year where school life returned to normal and the PTA continued to support requested events, and we appreciate all the PTA members, associates, and partners who changed plans to accommodate dates and times of College events.

The main source of income for the PTA, to redistribute to the College, continued to be through the Second-hand Uniform Shop. The shop is operated by a dedicated group of parent volunteers and members of the PTA, to whom we are immensely grateful for their time and commitment.

The PTA once again ran the annual Christmas Goodies fundraiser which was well supported by the school community.

This year the PTA did not host or ‘support host’ a large-scale fundraising event for the College, as has been the case in the pre-COVID years, but will look to host again.

PTA donations made to St Andrew’s College in 2023 totalled over $46,280.

•HotShots Photo Booths $450; •Fun Team Strowan Day $540;

•donation to cricket for iPads $5295.19;

•donation to Media Studies/Theatre audio visual $40,000.00.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the PTA, supporting at events the PTA is involved with, or are able to volunteer help in the Second-hand Shop, please email stacpta@stac.school.nz

Cafeteria

The St Andrew’s College Cafeteria has always held a special place in its heart for welcoming volunteers to assist with food preparation for the entire campus community.

Our dedicated volunteers, comprised of mothers, fathers, grandparents, and aunties, generously contribute their time to support our endeavours. Their presence fosters a warm and convivial atmosphere where staff and volunteers alike enjoy camaraderie while serving our ever-hungry students.

The invaluable assistance of our volunteers allows us to maintain affordable prices in the cafeteria while still managing to generate a modest profit each year. These profits are then reinvested into various areas of the school for the benefit of all students.

For more than a year, we’ve run our operations from a temporary cafeteria housed in the Rentoul Senior College. As we eagerly anticipate the move to our new cafeteria, we would like to express our gratitude to the volunteers who have supported us in the cafeteria over the years.

Old Collegians Association

The Old Collegians Association remains committed to fostering a culture of philanthropy at St Andrew’s College. During recent reunions and events, the unwavering spirit and loyalty of our Old Collegians have been evident, further substantiated by their ongoing generosity.

On behalf of the Old Collegians, our association actively supports the College and its students through various means. Among these forms of support are grants provided to students for extracurricular activities, the organisation of reunion events for past students, and assistance at College functions.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the success of alumni events and reunions, including year-group leaders and College staff. Lastly, I express my sincere thanks to the members of our executive team for their continuous support and generosity.

Celebrating Co-curricular

St Andrew’s College offers an extensive co-curricular programme, with over 50 different sports and cultural activities. College students benefit from these opportunities with well over 95 per cent of students involved in weekly co-curricular activities. The staff contribution to the programme is much appreciated and, in addition to this, the programme relies heavily on the support of parents and the wider College community. The College is fortunate to have many parent volunteers who give freely of their time to offer the best opportunities possible. Also, several sporting codes receive generous donations and sponsorship which have contributed significantly to the cost of equipment, uniform, and travel to tournaments. Thank you to all who have contributed in 2023, and not only the ones highlighted in this report, as your support has been much appreciated.

Cricket and Rugby

Every year, cricket and rugby at St Andrew’s College receive support from sponsors, giving our teams a crucial advantage and aiding our players in reaching their fullest potential on the field.

In 2023, cricket was supported by McBride Construction, Garden City Carpet Cleaners Ltd., and Southside Electrical Ltd., and were grateful benefactors of the St Andrew’s College Old Collegians Association Golf Tournament, with the amount raised of $6142 kindly donated to the sport.

The outstanding backing from our sponsors in 2023, as detailed below, has been instrumental in securing the success of St Andrew’s students. This support, combined with the dedication of our teams of coaches, managers, and parents, has contributed significantly to yet another prosperous season. A sincere thank you from all of us.

Netball

Netball at St Andrew’s College continues to grow and provides playing opportunities for both social and competitive players. We have twenty-four teams competing each Saturday at Hagley Park, as well as social teams who participate on a Wednesday afternoon.

Our netball programme is supported by many parents and teachers who give their time as managers, umpires, scorers, and first aiders. Their support allows our teams to have a positive netball experience and supports the development of our players.

We would like to thank H & L Construction of Wānaka who provided the Senior A team with hoodies this year. The players were very grateful for the support.

Basketball

Basketball at St Andrew’s College grew in numbers once again in 2023. With 500+ students playing across the Preparatory School and the Secondary School, the need for support has never been higher. We are incredibly fortunate to have superb sponsors that allow the programme to flourish. In 2023, we also held our bi-annual ‘Hoop It Up’ Gala Dinner – raising a considerable sum to support our students. We would like to publicly acknowledge the incredible support shown by our sponsors:

Silver Ellesmere Transport, Miles Construction Ltd., Wheeler Motor Company

The basketball fundraising committee – made up of Graeme Rhodes, Caroline Whittaker, Nick Wheeler, Bevan Seddon, Nigel Buchanan, Liz Righton, Brendan Chamberlain, David Ermerins, Jamie Wright, and Ben Eves, continued to work hard to the benefit of our competitive basketball programme. This included organising the iPhone auction, subsidising tournament costs, providing financial support to our athletes selected to represent New Zealand, covering the cost of physiotherapy, and investing in initiatives that benefit our student-athletes.

With interest at an all-time high, I am looking forward to another successful year for the basketball programme in 2024.

Rowing

St Andrew’s College rowing has a great squad this season, with 76 rowers competing in regattas throughout Term 1 and another 55 enrolled in our Year 9 Learn to Row programme. The growth and success of rowing at St Andrew’s would not be possible without the huge effort and commitment of our staff, coaches, managers, parent committee, parent volunteers, supporters, and families.

Staff – Liam Smith, Georgia Boyes, Hamish Bell, Kerry Larby, Kate Scott, and Evert van Florenstein, have been a huge support to our team. They spend weeks of their holidays and weekends supporting the squad through pastoral care at regattas and camps.

Julian Martel maintains all our boats and rowing equipment, dedicating endless hours to making sure we have equipment of the highest quality. Julian’s time and effort is greatly appreciated by all involved in rowing at St Andrew’s.

Rowing is a massive logistics exercise, relying heavily on parent volunteer effort. This is co-ordinated by our parent committee, wonderfully chaired by Craig Lewis, and including Jo de Joux, Dietlind Todhunter, Craig Burrowes, Belinda Thomas, Tim Barclay, Prue McStay, and Bevan Goode. The entire committee has been extremely dedicated, putting in many hours behind the scenes to make this season happen. This does not go unnoticed, thank you.

Past and present members of the parent committee have worked hard over the past five years to build a sponsorship programme that strongly supports our rowing club, raising over $400,000. The fundraising during this time has bought the club five coxed eights, three coxed fours, three pairs, and a single.

A huge thank you to our sponsors as listed below:

Silver Kamo Marsh Landscape Architects, Mitre 10 Mega Hornby and Papanui, New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty

Bronze Viden Engineering Group

Thank you to our kitchen committee Sarah Gamble and Nicky Coventry (food ordering and menus), Craig Lewis (boat park logistics), Kate and Hamish O’Brien (recovery packs), Jo de Joux and Kylie Kamo (parent communications). This group have committed hundreds of hours to organising our kitchen, meals, and running a team of volunteers who feed our large squad at all our camps and regattas. We are so fortunate to be so well catered for and it is most appreciated.

Thank you to Sami Chesterton who has worked closely with Cardrona Distillery in Wānaka throughout the season to put together some fantastic fundraising opportunities for our club.

Cardrona Distillery has multigenerational Old Collegian links to St Andrew’s College, and we are grateful for their generous support.

Thank you to Jo de Joux and Bevan Goode who organised our pub quiz fundraiser. Not only was this a great night, it also secured funding for the club.

A special mention must go to the Todhunter family for their hard work around organising the parent tent logistics.

Elise and Mike Greer of Mike Greer Homes have made a very generous donation of an ex-fleet Ford Ranger Ute. This vehicle has been of great value to the club as a towing vehicle. Angus Meats have provided us with great deals that have helped us fuel our team with top quality protein.

Our club is so fortunate to have the support of all these people and all the parents that volunteer their time to help the club. Your generosity is extremely appreciated by all involved in St Andrew’s rowing and allows us to run a fantastic programme that benefits all St Andrew’s rowers.

Hockey

The hockey programme at St Andrew’s College continues to grow, 2023 was a successful season with 21 players being selected to play for Canterbury U18 teams. Hockey at St Andrew’s receives loyal support from sponsors and parent volunteers, while helping our players to achieve their best on the turf.

Thanks to Garador Christchurch who sponsored a playing kit for the Girls’ Thistles.

Without our teams of coaches, managers, students, and parents, as well as the support shown by our sponsors, we would not have had such a successful season.

The following sponsors who have helped sponsor uniforms for some of our teams.

Suppliers

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the local businesses that provide invaluable support to St Andrew’s College through services and sponsorship.

Our sincere thanks go to Canterbury Teamwear, our trusted official sports uniform supplier, who consistently deliver excellent service to the College and generously sponsor several of our teams.

We also appreciate Canterbury Sports Wholesale, another valued partner, for supplying sports equipment to the College and actively supporting the sports community through ongoing sponsorship.

The Preparatory School and Secondary School sports programmes benefit from the exceptional Athlete’s Foot School Rewards program, which provides gifted sports gear. Their continued support is deeply appreciated.

Lone Star once again graciously provided gift vouchers. These vouchers of appreciation allowed us to recognise individuals who have gone above and beyond in the sports community.

Beyond these businesses, we acknowledge the families and other enterprises that contribute to our Sport and Co-curricular programme. Their unwavering support enables us to empower our students to achieve their best.

Thanking our Donors

St Andrew’s College and the St Andrew’s College Foundation are strengthened through financial contributions and bequests, which help to maintain the high standard of independent education at St Andrew’s College. Through income earned on the St Andrew’s College Foundation invested endowment, funds are directed to areas of need at the Board of Governors’ request.

Strowan Club

The St Andrew’s College donor societies began in 2007 with the establishment of Strowan Club, as a means of thanking our Old Collegians, parents, and friends who have gifted $10,000 or more to St Andrew’s College.

The following list includes all members who have given recently, or who based upon their cumulative giving, are now welcomed to the Strowan Club, Highland Club, Thompson Founders’ Circle, and as a St Andrew’s College Fellow.
