MAGAZINE APRIL 2025 EDITOR’S CHOICE

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! -

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!

I’M A STEVE MCQUEEN FAN AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BULLITT MOVIE.

This is my 2008 Bullitt Mustang #1573 nicknamed “Bella.”

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I’ve always been a fan of the Ford Mustang but I’m a Steve McQueen fan and absolutely love the Bullitt movie.

My first Mustang was a 1985 Mustang GT and from there I purchased a 2001 Mustang Bullitt, which I sold and totally regretted. So I’ve been looking for a 2008 Bullitt and it took me five years to find the right one with low mileage 29,000 km. It has always been in a climate controlled garage.

This Mustang is pretty much stock other than a Steeda supercharger and a SCT tuner which is producing 440 WHP.

THE BEST THING ABOUT MY MUSTANG IS THAT IT’S

100%

GARAGE BUILT IN MY BACK YARD.

My name is Steve Duncan. I have been building Foxbody Mustangs for 30 years. I own a 1993 Mustang LX. The motor has been swapped to a Gen 1 Coyote Aluminator, backed by a twin disc McCloud clutch. It has a prepped TKO transmission, has a ProCharger D1 head unit making 12 pounds of boost and 700 rear wheel horsepower on 93 octane, has a 6 point cage, and is mini-tubbed. The car also has all tubular race suspension and Cobra brakes.

My wife and I built the car. In the last year we have taken the car completely apart and painted it Machinery Gray. The interior was also redone at that time as well. The car has been tuned by Tuners Inc. thanks to Tony Gonyon. The best thing about my Mustang is that it’s 100% garage built in my back yard.

THIS CAR HAS BEEN THE MOST EXCITING CAR TO DRIVE OUT OF ALL OF MY MUSTANGS...

My name is Michael Buckley and this is my 2023 Mustang GT. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about Mustangs and have owned five of them over the years.

My current modifications include Steeda Strut Tower Brace Double Bar, Steeda Lowering Spring Sport Progressive, Steeda Rear IRS Subframe Support Braces, Steeda Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace, Steeda Low-Profile Jacking Rails, Steeda Adjustable Front and Rear Sway Bar Kit, Roush H-pipe, P51 101RF Gloss Black Wheels (19 x 10 in the front and 19 x 11 in the rear), Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Tires (285/35/19 in the front and 325/30/19 in the rear).

This car has been the most exciting car to drive out of all of my Mustangs and I have big plans for her!

IT’S WHO I AM. IT’S WHAT I DO.

My name is Leslye Wolf and this is my 2021 Mustang GT nicknamed “Jemisha” which means Queen of the Night. I got my Mustang during the height of Covid, brand new. The dealer only had two. One used and one new.

I needed a car since my daily driver just went OOS. I never intended to buy a Ford. I never intended to buy a Mustang. I didn’t even know what one looked like. I walked past it in the middle of the show room floor and didn’t even know. We took it for a drive. They started her up and I knew. She went home with me. I’ve been in love ever since.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I’ve been a paramedic for 30 years, firefighter for 15, and a physician assistant for 23. Her hood says “On Call For Life”, because I am. It’s who I am. It’s what I do.

WE MIGHT JUST ADD TO THE STABLE...

Lucy is my 1987 Mustang GT 5 speed manual convertible. She is a Scarlet Red over Titanium masterpiece with just over 93k miles on her. I purchased her here in Kansas City March of 2021 with 86k miles on her. Lucy is an absolute joy to drive and is definitely the only form of therapy in need when it comes to getting my head straight. She is all original with the exception of the FlowMaster 40s that I had installed last year.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

Angela, my better half, purchased the Elite Marti report about Lucy which tells a very interesting story about her. One, she has been a KC car for most of her life. Two, this car used to have a graphic EQ that was paired with the original radio that is still in the car but has since been removed.

This car is 1 of 6 according to the report with its options that were chosen. Lastly, Lucy was actually built on my girlfriend’s birthday (5/13/1987). Pretty cool. Angela enjoyed doing things in and with my car so much that she had her eye out for a Mustang convertible of her own. Daizy soon popped up for Angela to acquire.

Daizy is a different animal than my Lucy. She has a full notebook on history, who has owned her, shows she has been trailered to and has won etc... Daizy has a wonderfully colorful history from the Hamptons to the West coast before eventually ending up here in Kansas City. Daizy is a low mileage, 28k, 1993 Spring Edition Canary Yellow, automatic Mustang LX 5.0 convertible. She is one of 1501 Canary Yellow Mustangs built with the white interior and top. This feature car was the first to come with the exclusive all chrome plated five spoke wheels. This package also comes with the special monochromatic trim package on the outside of the car. The more Canary Yellow the better!

Angela and I are active members with the Mustang Club of Greater Kansas City and enjoy being involved in the multiple shows and events throughout the year. The club members are a great group of enthusiasts and have become true friends along the way. We also enjoy getting the girls out of town from time to time to attend MCA sanctioned events as well. We’ve done a few and have enjoyed them immensely.

Angela and I love our girls. Lucy and Daizy are our tickets to get away and come back refreshed each and every trip regardless of how long they may be. We are looking forward to many more years of enjoyment from them. And who knows, if we find the room for storage, we might just add to the stable as well!

THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART.

On April 5th and 6th of 2014, I was the Ambassador to escort Mustang Enthusiasts from New Zealand and Australia as they made their way by boat to transport their Mustangs to San Diego. They then drove right here to Tucson to head towards North Carolina.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I had the 2013 Ford Mustang, Black with the Green C stripes in the photos. This tour was extra special as it was part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang.

I took them to a historic Mexican restaurant, guided tour of San Xavier Mission, and eventually to the Pima Air and Space Museum. We finished the evening eating steak at Pinnacle Peak and had some fun playing miniature golf at Golf N’ Stuff.

It was one of the most memorable times in my life. They are such a great group of people. I was unofficially “knighted” when they arrived and became known as “Sir Gilbert.” They will always have a special place in my heart.

IT HAS DEFINITELY BROUGHT ME OUT OF DARK TIMES.

This 2019 Mustang literally saved my life and gave me hope. I started custom building it six months ago. With the help from my bro Randy at Kreative Kustoms Hydrodipping LLC, this car is now a game changer.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I’ve traveled the whole east coast with it. I have had her for a year. My girlfriend Charla came up with the name “Neka” as the build took twists. “Neka the Twisted Nightmare” was born. I’m actually halfway into this car build right now with more to come. My biggest supporters are Randy, Justin, Haylie, Faith, Charla, and Becky.

I still have a long way to go with this build but it has definitely brought me out of dark times. I got this car for traveling back and forth with my daughter who gets chemo treatments for a rare type of brain cancer she has been battling.

STEPPING OUT OF HER EVERY DAY IS LIKE BEING A CELEBRITY...

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I have loved race cars since I was a teenager. Before I was able to drive, I played video games that were based on car races. My heart constantly fluttered whenever I was playing. I would imagine myself being behind the wheel. To this day, I still love racing games! Once I started driving, driving fast was in my nature. In 2000, I watched Gone in 60 Seconds, and that was the start of my love with Mustangs, particularly Eleanor. I bought my first Mustang in 2017. She was an all-black 2014 V6 Mustang. She was so special to me since she was my first. But deep down, she didn’t make me flutter.

I stumbled upon Quorra. In 2022, she became mine, and I fell head over heels. I started customizing her with custom paint and vinyl in my favorite color, Seafoam. The contrast and designs started giving my thoughts on the movie Tron, so I created a theme based on the movie. She is such a unique and intriguing car. She turns heads everywhere we go. Stepping out of her every day is like being a celebrity, stepping out of her onto a red carpet with everyone watching. Her slick black body and perfect Seafoam accents make her pop everywhere. Wanting to show her off, I searched for an all-female Mustang club: Mustang Mamas. It is a great club where women can talk in a non-judgmental place about our Mustangs and all things cars. I met a local woman through Mustang Mamas who introduced me to my current club, Bucks County Stangz. This group is not huge, but it is mighty in its work within the community, and that’s what I love about them. This has led to her being

I WAS ONE OF SALEEN AUTOSPORT’S EARLIEST COMPETITION CUSTOMERS.

My name is George Chabal and this is my 1986 Saleen 86-0068. I am the original owner with 10,253 miles, original paint, and interior. 86-0068 was special ordered as a stripped-down Mustang from Ford and drop shipped to Saleen Autosport for the Saleen conversion. The car was purchased to compete in SCCA Solo II.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I was one of Saleen Autosport’s earliest competition customers. With an eye on the SCCA Solo II Series, I contacted Steve Saleen on how best to order a new Mustang for club racing. With Steve’s assistance I ordered a Bright Red 5-Liter LX Hatchback with tinted glass, light group, power lock group and Ford radio delete. Other equipment would include Saleen’s standard Kenwood sound system, Ford Mustang GT seating, and Hurst short-throw shifter.

Of the 187 street prepared Hatchbacks, it is known that 47 were painted Bright Red (paint code 2R). Of those, 44 featured Charcoal interiors. All 44 were equipped with 5-speed manual transmissions, while 43 were built from the LX 5-Liter platform. Closer examination of these 43 Bright Red with Charcoal interior conversions reveals, 35 were equipped with Saleen’s Kenwood Stereo. Of the 187 street prepared hatchbacks 86-0068 is one of three with delete features and one of three known with a light grey Momo steering wheel.

This one of a kind competitive and most likely the winningest Saleen ever has at least 300 first place finishes in both the men’s and women’s classes (including 1 National win, 13 Divisional wins, 4 National Tour wins, 9 PA State Championship wins, and at least 216 local wins. Plus, a total of 40 year-end championships in two different local regions.)

IT IS HARD TO BEAT THE STYLING AND RIDE OF THEM.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

This is my 1995 Ford Mustang GT. I call her Sally. I’ve always loved Mustangs and have had a couple prior to getting this one. The passion for Mustangs is like no other car out there.

The SN95 doesn’t get the attention as other models but it is hard to beat the styling and ride of them.

I actually made a deal with my nephew. I had a 2007 F150 he had always wanted so I told him if he found me a Mustang GT Convertible I would trade him the truck for the Mustang. After several pics of Mustangs in a span of a couple weeks, I ran across this one and sent the owner a message about it. She said someone had just messaged her about it. It wasn’t a second later and my nephew called and sent me pics of the same car! So as you can tell, this is how the story ended.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no.
