CLASSICS THE BEST GEN MAGAZINE SPECIAL EDITION HONORING OUR sPECIAL EDITION MUSTANGS
MAGAZINE
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

I WENT ALL IN. HOPE I DID CARROLL SHELBY PROUD, ENJOY.
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
My passion for cars started as young boy with my Dad. He worked for GM and I remember going with him to the plant for tours and being fascinated with every aspect from start to finish. When I was able to drive of course it was a Chevy but my preference was soon changing as I started going to car shows and seeing more and more Mustangs. I eventually bought my first Mustang over 30 years ago, a 1967 coupe, and the love affair began.
My current project, this 1966 Mustang Fastback GT350 Shelby tribute (Baby Girl), started over seven years ago. I purchased this car thinking it had everything I wanted on a car but soon found out everything had to be replaced. In my mind I was going to build the car the way I wanted it, so I went all in. Hope I did Carroll Shelby proud, enjoy.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
Modifications include Saphire Blue paint (first year Shelby color) by Ralph Evans of E&G garage, Ford 9 inch rear, Moser axles, 3:50 Ford gears, QA1 fully adjustable coil overs front/rear, triangulated 4 link, frame rail connectors, hydraulic clutch, Wilwood drilled and slotted brakes front/ rear, Mustang II front end, power steering /flaming river tilt aluminium steering column, Lokar aluminum pedals, custom interior with diamond stitched seats and door cards, Stewart Warner racing gauges, roll bar, 347 stroker/8 stack fuel injection, T-5 transmission, and American Racing vintage torq thrust rims.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

I COULD TELL BY THE FIRST DRIVE...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
My passion for cars probably began when I was a young kid. My Mom loved sportscars, so she always drove one while my Dad had the “family” car. I remember taking a family trip to see my Aunt and Uncle in Washington, DC. It was a seven hour trip and I was in the middle seat in the back of a Camaro. That is where my car passion began, sitting on top of the transmission hump vibrating my very vision as the car would accelerate. From then on, I was hooked on cars. I had several magazine subscriptions to the trendy car publishing. I was always looking out the car window shouting out, “there goes a Porsche 911” or “look at that Corvette Stingray.” I knew just about every sportscar and loved seeing them fly by me, down the road.
Fast forward to about three years ago. I had been on the hunt for a Mustang for about a year. I wanted some old school muscle. When I saw my first Mach 1, I knew this would be my first sportscar. My eldest son was just hitting the teenage years and was helping with my search. I finally found one that jumped off the page at me. My son and I made the 9 hour round trip to pick it up and bring it home. I could tell by the first drive that me and my son were both hooked.
Now whenever I start up the Mustang in the garage (you can feel the whole house shake), my son comes running down asking “where are we going?” And as we roll down the street I now here him say “there goes
a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat” or “did you see that Mustang Shelby GT500?”.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
SON... My love for Mustangs started back in 1970 as a 16 year old and my Uncle Vic offered to sell me his 1966 Coupe 3 speed manual for 225 dollars. The car was mint and I wanted it but my dad said no and my dream was shattered. Over the years, I was mostly a pre WWII car guy. My last car before moving to Florida was a 1940 Buick Sedan. Since it wasn’t a stop on the dime vehicle and fairly large car, I sold it and was classic car carless. Still having the desire for a show car that I also could have fun with, I started my search for the car that was always a desire, that being a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe.
So about six years ago the search brought me to many areas of the state of Florida and I finally found the Mustang that fit my desires. It was automatic, power steering and brakes, and of course A/C was a necessity. The car was about 70% complete in a terrific looking Silver Blue color and it had the pony interior and had the original 289 C code motor. I was in love. The car became known as the Blue Angel. It is well known at the local car shows and although I have lost count, she has won over 170 awards and trophies.
My Dad has passed since this purchase but I know he is looking down and saying nice car son, at least better than that 1966 Ford Falcon I sold you... lol.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

Since I was five years old and saw a photo of a GT500KR on the cover of a magazine, I knew I wanted a Mustang. I grew to love the First Generation cars and promised I would someday have one. I bought my first Mustang, a 1974 Mustang II while in the Navy. Soon thereafter, I purchased my second Mustang, a 1967 Mustang Coupe. In truth, both cars were falling apart when I bought them. With no garage or tools, they were sold as quickly as I got them.
Fast forward 35 years and when I retired, my dream came true to own a Mustang that I could devote my passion to and I was able to purchase this car. The body restoration had already been made by the previous owner leaving me to finish the car. Over the last four winters, I was able to complete my dream. The engine was rebuilt with stock components except for a few. I did the vinyl top in my garage as well as the upholstery. This is a daily driver. I still have the original window sticker, sales receipt, and build sheet from 1965. All rare finds.
This is a 1966 Mustang “C code” vinyl top coupe. Rolled off the assembly line on November 24, 1965. Sold on December 21, 1965. Sold by the world famous TASCA Ford Dealership (of NHRA Drag Racing fame). Original color was Nightmist Blue with white vinyl top. Current color is Night-

This 1969 Ford Mustang was purchased in 1969 for my Aunt Dora Lee by her mother and my grandmother Bertha. Dora Lee lived on Grace Ave. off Hollywood Blvd where the car was garaged until her passing in 2021.
She was employed in the movie Industry. She treated this car as her kid. Every Sunday she hand washed it with sponges and a spray water bottle. No modifications have been done. Everything is original. It has been driven on the Daytona 500 track and been in Florida car shows.

This 69 Mustang GT was bought as a project for my father and I to work on together in his last days. Every time I drive her, Dad is in the seat next to me saying “HOLY MOLY“.
She has a Gurney Eagle “Dan Gurney racing engine”, is pushing over 500 ponies and is backed by a Tremec 5 speed and Curry 9” posi 350 gear.

This is our 1965 GT Fastback documented with the original 38,126 miles. We are the third owner. It is a full Concours Rotisserie restoration completed by me, Orlando Mustang. This car is a true example of the 1st Generation style performance and design of the Mustang. We regularly show “Ivy”, named after her factory exterior color Ivy Green and we have won many awards throughout the years (over 20 years).
She still looks like she rolled of the assembly line, a true GT with almost every option available.
This really is my wife’s car. She claimed it the first time she saw it finished and we showed it in Augusta, Ga way back in 2005. We have many great stories about this particular car.

IT WAS FEATURED IN THE NOVEMBER 2019 ISSUE OF MUSTANG MONTHLY SHARING THE FRONT COVER.
I bought my 1966 Mustang Coupe in 1991. 24 years later the restoration was complete. Gone is the inline six, manual 3 speed transmission, and 7 inch rear end. These were replaced with an “86” 5.0 with GT 40-X aluminum heads with an Edelbrock Air Gap intake feeding a Holley 600 carb, 5 speed world class T-5, and an 8 inch rear with 3:55 gears. Exterior paint was changed, interior was replaced with seats from Summit Racing, and gauges were replaced with Auto meter units. The car was lowered one inch. Wheel wells were rolled to accommodate the larger rear tires. Foose Knuckle 17” wheels are wrapped with Continental tires. Breathing is through Hedmen headers feeding through 2” Pypes X-pipe then through a pair of series 40 Flowmaster mufflers and finally out through a set of chrome tips.

This is my 1968 Mustang Coupe - Patience. We bought her from a young man who no longer wanted to take care of her in 2012. She was painted black and had been keyed down to metal along the entire passenger side. The trunk was full of speakers, subwoofers, and fiberglass. My husband stripped out everything. We then took it to a painter who had it for two years and did more damage than progress. Everytime we tried to take her away from him, he would do a little bit of work and hold us off for a while longer. We finally got her away from him and into a shop that got the job done quickly and professionally.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. Patience has been rewired from headlights to tail lights. She has a crate 302 CI 300 HP engine with a C4 transmission. The exterior is Pavo Purple with a black vinyl top. Pinstripeing was done by David Jones. She’s got purple carpet, purple on the doors, a touch screen radio with new speakers and an embroidered package tray. A stock looking digital dash and high back front seats round out the interior. We’ve added power steering, disc brakes up front and most important, air conditioning. She’s not complete yet, but I get to drive her.

I PULLED MY OLDEST FRIEND OUT OF HELL...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
This is my 1970 Mustang convertible - the FUNK. I bought this car from my neighbor back in 1978 at the age of 15 and drove it thorough high school and college then it sat for a loooong time!
It was dragged around the NY area for years to sit in barns and a boatyard. During a horrible divorce, I pulled my oldest friend out of hell and spent every bit of time and money I had building it into what it is today. I did all the metal and body work in less than a month and the whole car was done in less than a year!
The whole front end is fiberglass as are the doors and decklid. I painted and airbrushed the graphics myself! Just over 44 years now with this car, three kids of mine have grown up in this cruising and loving the monster it is! I’m a oldschool sign painter as was my grandfather and dad were, so that’s the graphic side of what I did for years until tattooing took over all my time. I run Skin Funk Tattoo in Cicero, NY now for just over 40 years!
The Funk has a 347 Stroker with AFR heads and 6:71 blower with two quick fuel carbs, powerglide with trans brake, and a 9” narrowed rear with 4:11 gears and four wheel Wilwood brakes.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

My Mom received the Mustang as a Christmas present from my Dad in 1965. She gave me the Mustang in 1971. It took several tries to get it restored. First with a shop in Texas, then at a shop in North Carolina, and finally with Barry Stone. He was able to do the work after the other two had let it sit for years.
The restoration did not finish until a few months after my Mom passed away but she did get to see dozens of pictures while it was being restored. Mods include aluminum heads and intake, headers and new cam, electronic ignition, electronic power steering, Magnum 500 wheels, Pony interior with custom console, and aluminum radiator.
