“MYSTIQUE”
2019 ROUSH PERFORMANCE CUSTOM
DAVID DUPUIS
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! -

2019 ROUSH
PERFORMANCE CUSTOM
I have always liked specialty Mustangs, Roush in particular. In Canada where I live, they are somewhat rare but was looking for something even more unique with additional performance and customization.
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
Three years ago, I purchased a Kona Blue 2019 GT from my good friend Andrew Poziomka, which was the perfect blank canvas for this build. Working with Barrhaven Ford Customs, technician Steve Hall completed the conversion installing pretty much everything that comes in a Roush Stage 3 including the max cooling kit with auxiliary heat exchangers, phase 2 supercharger, active exhaust, and adjustable coil-over suspension. Other parts like the crankshaft sprocket and oil pump gear were also swapped out for heavy duty versions from Boundary Racing Pumps.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
The very long list of upgrades that followed included improved brakes, a custom Katzkin leather interior, a touchscreen with custom software, LED upgrades from Diode Dynamics, dual UPR oil catch cans, and a 14-speaker Infinity sound system with a pair of 12” subs that blend in nicely with the supercharger whine emanating from a modified sound tube (Foster SC Mods). Joel Falardeau at the Mustang Auto Shop added long-tube headers with high-flow cats and Autometer analog gauges. A Chip Foose wing, custom vinyl and badging, and Scott Drake trim pieces round out the exterior styling. Tires are 275/35ZR20 fronts + 315/30ZR20 rears mounted on Fondmetal rims that were powder-coated.
To-date two rounds of tuning have been completed by Marc Chartrand’s team at International Dyno Authority following the various performance upgrades. Wally continues to work his tuning magic with the car so far making 757+ RWHP on just 91 octane with massive low-end torque for spirited launches.
Cruising with the Ottawa Mustang Club, the car has participated is several shows and fundraiser events and has already received several awards including at Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA. Attention to detail was among the goals with custom made pieces plus extensive paintwork by Sketchs Ink throughout the engine bay which transitions to the interior along with a forged blue carbon fiber dash and trim, and subtle accent lighting.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
Much like the blue shapeshifting character Mystique from Marvel, this car has evolved to become a truly unique Mustang. Even the orange and gold accents are color-matched to the Mystique character who appears in the center display surrounded by track apps.
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!
For me this car is pure automotive therapy - a fun car that I can enjoy with my boys Christopher and William, our friends, and the many nice people we get to meet along the way at events and activities.
