FANS AND THEIR MUSTANGS

M A G A Z I N E

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

IT IS MY BUCKET LIST CAR!

CHUCK DEKETT My name is John Winn and this is my 2012 Shelby GT500 nicknamed “Ann”, appropriately named after another feisty redhead Ann Margaret. My love for Mustangs started from the 70s when a friend of my brother had a 1970 Mustang. I got my first of five Mustangs in 1989 when I got a Blue Mustang GT. I’ve always wanted a Shelby and in 2014, I was blessed with finding one! It is my bucket list car! Mods are basically still stock but I added a K&N cold air intake and Borla exhaust. The neighbors love me!

Today, BLU enjoys being shown off at the local car shows, parades, homecoming, and club related events. I think people undervalue the modifications done by the Roush team. It’s difficult to say what stands out the most. Is it the Vista Blue color and white stripes with its aero package; the low, aggressive stance; the custom, detailed interior or perhaps the road-hugging suspension? For me, it’s the sound of the Eaton/Roush supercharger - there’s nothing like the whine of a supercharger. It all comes together in one great BLU ride!

My 1990 Mustang GT is silver in color and was built winter of 2022-2023 for the 2023 race season. The car has a 302 mildly built with a built C4 and 373 gears. All of our Mustangs are fueled by Renegade Racing Fuel. Being run in a junior street class all season there was a few setbacks with the motor and transmission about halfway through the year. Now everything is good to go for the upcoming season.

My 2008 Mustang GT was upgraded in 2022 with cams, drive pulleys, gears, and a one piece driveshaft. All work was done by Grey Mayton owner of Speedydyno & Auto Care in Owensboro, KY. All of our Mustangs are fueled by Renegade Racing Fuel. This past year we had complications due to a factory oil pump, after a motor swap with a high pressure oil pump and new clutch with a different shifter. We will see how this year goes with it.
