MAGAZINE JULY 2024
MAGAZINE
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

TALKING WITH TJ
As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.
Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and outcasts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.
From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!
EDGAR ALLAN POE
Edgar Allan Poe, the king of gothic horror novel! So, you know this adventure is going to kick ass. The start of this adventure was at Edgar Allan Poe’s gravesite. His fleshly corpse was buried at Westminster Hall and Burying Ground, located in Baltimore, Maryland.
The funny part of this was when we first came out of the car to see the grave, we saw a huge ass raven, kaw kawing at us. This was a huge super raven, similar to the size of New York’s sewer rats, and if you know what I am talking about then you know, this bird was freakishly huge. Even a local walking her dog, hurried up and picked up her dog and hid under a tree, screaming “where is it, where is it, do you see it?”
The grave was very cool with an engraved metal bust of Poe’s head on one of the sides of the tombstone. You could definitely feel the erieness of the graveyard. In fact, one spot there was a cold spot, which was weird, since it was in the middle of summer. The cemetery opened in 1787 by the First Presbyterian Church

of Baltimore. You can literally feel the history here and imagine all the people who have passed through these cemetery gates.
& MODEL INFO
The highlight of this tour was The Horse You Came In On Saloon, was the very same saloon that Edgar used to frequent. It was opened in 1775 at Fells Point, in Maryland. According to the Horse, as it’s called by the locals, this was the last place Edgar was seen before his delirium set in and his sudden death.
If you are ever in Baltimore, Maryland, you got to check out these spots and just feel the history.
For the record, if you dig around a bit at the cemetery, there is the main tombstone dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe, but around the back side of the church courtyard, is his actual tombstone hidden amongst the other long term residents. We randomly found it walking around and solved the mystery like Scooby Doo.

The cool thing about this place was at the bar there are saddles that you sit in to drink your poison. I might say that although kind of awkward, the saddles were actually comfortable.

IT HAS BEEN TASTEFULLY MODIFIED MAKING 700 HORSEPOWER...
I have wanted a Mustang for a long time. I finally got the opportunity to purchase the car I had always dreamed of from a mutual enthusiast and friend.
It is a 2011 Mustang GT California Special with 15,000 miles. It has been tastefully modified making 700 horsepower at the rear wheels and 825 horsepower at the crank. My dream is fulfilled by attending car shows and cruise ins. I nicknamed her 1FASTCS.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. This is “Bandito”, a 2019 Steve McQueen Edition Bullitt Mustang #100 of 300.
“Born to be wild” I’ve wanted to own a Mustang since 1976 when I saw a white Cobra II with blue racing strips in a dealership near me. Almost got it as a graduation present! I was able to drive Mustangs belonging to my friends and loved every minute, but life intervened and I was not able to buy one at the time. Fast forward to 2019 and I was in the market for a new car and my dealership was able to work it out to get a 2019 Bullitt Mustang. It is an incredible car!
Then I found out about an upgrade that could be done to make it a Steve McQueen Edition! Steve’s son Chad worked with Steeda Performance to boost the car to a new level! I am amazed at the power and driving capabilities for this upgrade. Highlights include a Whipple SC 800hp, McQueen Edition Nitto tires front (10.5”) and back (11.5”), McQueen Edition

Wheels, new aggressive front facia, Steve McQueen Edition plaques on motor, dashboard, door sills, and tail end, 10-rib belt pulley for the SC, Steeda Tri-ax shifter, McQueen floor mats, Ford Performance severe duty IRS half-shaft upgrade, and carbon fiber and leather steering wheel.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
I want to acknowledge all the help I got to make this dream a reality. Special thanks for the photographs by Kris Crawford, Brooklyn, CT. Special thanks to Bowen’s Garage, Eastford, CT and Steeda Performance Vehicles, Valdosta, GA for their products and guidance. Special thanks to Cargill Detailing, Putnam, CT for keeping it looking nice. Finally, special thanks for the graphics by The Larson Group, Charlton, MA.

SHE IS FAST AND HANDLES LIKE A DREAM.
My Mustang passion began in the early 70s when I purchased a 1965 Ford Mustang, 2+2 Fastback, 289 engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. Exterior color was Burgandy with Black interior. A very cool car. Which much later on in life, led me to buying a 2014 Mustang GT, 5.0, with a 6 speed manual transmission. Wow, great car!

Which leads me to present time. I ordered and purchased a brand new 2021 Mustang GT, 5.0 with the 6 speed manual transmission. When it arrived at the dealer and I went to pick her up, it was love at first sight! Such a beautiful car. I gave her a beautiful name: Maria. I still get goosebumps every time I start her up. A very exciting car to drive. She is fast and handles like a dream. Mods include a Roush cold air intake, dynotune, and miscellanous chrome in engine compartment.
I am in three Mustang car clubs and EVERYONE knows about STANG Magazine! Great pics and stories!

This is Morticia. She is a 2022 Mustang GT/CS and has no modifications, so far. The color is from the factory Mischievous Oil Slick Blue Purple. I call it Mischievous Purple just because it’s easier. It is extremely hard to get great pictures only because you need to have the perfect light.
When I was a small child my father had a 64 1/2 Mustang Convertible. I guess that’s where my love of cars in general came from. After 50 years it’s finally my turn to own this beauty. I absolutely love this car. I love the way it drives and the way it handles and accelerates. It just fits me and I really don’t have any idea why it took so long to actually get one. MUSTANGS ARE AN EVER EVOLVING WORK OF ART...
I remember specifically, I saw a poster in 1986 of all of the models of Mustangs up to that point. It was love at first sight and I knew one day I would own one of these cars. Years went by and life happened but eventually in late 2000s my husband and I drove by an 82 Foxbody with a for sale sign. This would be our first Mustang. We enjoyed this shared hobby and fixing it up. A few years later we picked a beautiful blue 2000 V6 Convertible Next Gen and owned that one for a few years as well. In October 2019 we were passing by a Ford dealership and noticed this beautiful Torch Red 2008 GT. We immediately pulled over and bought it. This was the Mustang we’ve been waiting for. Poppy was all stock and pretty plain Jane when we bought her. Over that first winter we installed the SR Performance cold air intake and spent the next summer driving her around deciding what to do next! In the summer of 2021 we added the new Cervini Mach 1 hood with a custom paint job and changed the rear spoiler to match. We also added the Flowmaster Outlaw axle back exhaust (a respectable 10/10 on the
We’ve come to understand that Mustangs are an ever evolving work of art and have added 20” American Racing wheels, the 281cc badge paying homage to yesteryear Mustangs, restored the aging bucket seats, ordered a hide of black leather, added factory moulded foam replacements and new seat heaters, and under the hood we added some blue Ford Racing valve covers, upgraded spark plugs, and sexy red coil packs. We also upgraded to a Ford Racing intake manifold, Ford Racing 62mm throttle body, and new alternator. Like icing on the cake we have added some nice touches under the hood with some color coded covers and a bit of chrome.

I am a diehard Mustang addict. I have owned seven Mustangs so far. When I saw Quicksilver, I knew she was the one for me... a beautiful car with a deep growl that just called to me. I love all Mustangs but this body style is one of my favorites. It is gorgeous and aggressive.

THIS CAR IS SOMETHING SPECIAL TO ME...
I’ve always been a car guy since I was young. I have had all brands and models of sportscars through the years and hands down my 2018 Mustang GT has been the best car I have ever owned.

This car is something special to me because I can get in it and fire it up and go drive down to Texas Motorplex two hours away in full comfort, put my helmet on and run 9s in the 1/4 mile, and drive it back home. It is the ultimate street car in my eyes.
Mods list includes custom twin turbo kit with twin 67mm Comp CT-R 1.0 turbos, Fore fuel system with triple pumps for E85, ID1050X injectors in the manifold, built 10 speed and 3200rpm stall by Steve Ellis and Circle D Converters, full BMR Bread and Butter rear suspension, GeForce axles and DSS carbon driveshaft, and tuned by Rob Shoemaker. Best pass is 9.2 in the 1/4.

JUST THE TIP
IT’S JUST A BOX
Found this one interesting – Jump boxes. OK so you’re scratching your head asking “Jump” boxes? What’s that about?
I personally had two interactions very recently where friends/family had a dead battery. I mean who hasn’t? Both had a Jump box, but neither knew what to do with it. A Jump box is essentially another battery for your car.
It’s a battery that has cables coming off of it that look like one end of a set of jumper cables. Very easy process.
Simply hook the Jump box up to your car’s battery as if you had another car with you and hooking up jumper cables from their battery to your battery. The Jump box just replaces the other car with what is essentially – another car battery.
And nothing special required to recharge them. If you have a Jump box, it came with a plug that will plug into a
© 2024 STANG MAGAZINE
standard wall outlet. Nothing fancy about it.
If you do not have a Jump box, it may be something to look into, as you never know when a battery might die out on you. So keeping one in the trunk is just an added layer of confidence.
Now should you replace your jumper cables with a Jump Box? Because of their convenience and increased safety, jump starters/boxed have gradually replaced jumper wires. Unlike jumper cables, jump starters do not require additional electricity.
They’re more convenient since you can take and use
them everywhere, even in the vehicle. They are easier to store, less cumbersome, and definitely less confusing to use.
In our opinion, invest in a Jump Box. They make a bunch of different designs, sizes, and features. Some even have built in lights, air pumps, and other useful items during a break down.

Not only have we converted to a 501c3 nonprofit giving back to our car enthusiast community, the military, and law enforcement, but we have been launching new projects left and right. A few years back we launched Locked & Loaded Magazine which added more to our pages than just Mustangs. The following year we launched STANG Paranormal because we are crazy and like to go ghost hunting all across the country. Last year, we launched our newest project called “Twisted Bombshell”, focusing completely on our military and our military history.
While getting ready for an event at the Battleship New Jersey, we started to talk about having themed events and honoring our family members who served in the military. We started to research uniforms, family histories, and prized possessions that were passed down through the generations. To make a long story short, out of all of our research, our first Twisted Bombshell book was published and it was a tribute to the 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). They were part of the enormous invasion that landed in Normandy and helped to end World War II.
The best part of those months of endless nights and research... we were able to present the first printed copy to the ONLY surviving member of the 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). How cool is that?!?
Since then, STANG Magazine has published two other Twisted Bombshell books. The second was released and
presented to Richard Deverter who the book was about and who served with the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion. One of our STANG staff, Rob Villeaume, would visit Mr. Deverter and his wife of 74 years, weekly for the past year at their nursing home and reflect upon his military service. Mr. Deverter earned a Bronze Star but was never given one in person due to it being lost in the sauce somewhere along the way. On September 26th, Rob gave Mr. Deverter and his wife a copy of the Twisted Bombshell book that was written about him. Two days later on September 28th, Rob presented Mr. Deverter with his Bronze Star. Upon receiving his Bronze Star, Mr. Deverter took his last breathe and passed away peacefully with his wife and Rob by his side.

LOCKED & LOADED
LOWDOWN
GSG-5 - GERMAN SPORT GUNS
SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST AND ONE HELL OF A FUN GUN!
What’s up people! Welcome to Locked & Loaded Lowdown where we focus on some of the best firearms and “toys” on the market. As many of you auto enthusiasts know, you have to protect yourself and your property so here at STANG Magazine, we decided to merge our publications all into one, giving you a taste of the best of both worlds. Now, let’s get the LOWDOWN on this badass toy, the German Sport Guns (GSG)-5.
The sick ass little “plinkster” that you see here is a GSG-5, custom modified, and one hell of a fun gun. The GSG-5 is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered for the .22 long rifle cartridge. This rifle externally resembles the Heckler & Koch MP5 style submachine gun.
This particular GSG-5 is equipped with a Sightmark Sureshot Reflex holographic sight with four reticle patterns, retractable stock, tri-rail guard with UTG hand guard covers, 22-round magazines with dual magazine clamps, non slip handle grip, and tactical sling. She is blacked out, maxed out, and always ready to rock and roll.
The GSG-5 utilizes the H&K style drum sight that is adjustable for windage. German Sports Guns provides a weaver rail attachment that slides onto the top of the frame, allowing
other sighting systems to be added. This baby feels 100% awesome in your hands and looks menacing sitting on the shelf when your neighbors decide to come over to borrow some sugar. Even though it is a .22, this gun is quick to unload 20+ rounds in a heartbeat. She is an absolute blast and one hell of a fun gun!

SALUTE TO OUR MILITARY
CADEN RAMEY
UNITED STATES AIR FORCE - SECURITY FORCES
IT IS MY HONOR TO SERVE MY COUNTRY AND TO MAKE MY FAMILY PROUD.
My name is Caden Ramey. I am Security Forces in the United States Air Force.
I enlisted in the Air Force for two reasons.
The first of which being my great grandfather, Paul Guiton, who served in the Army Air Force. The second reason being that my uncle, SSgt Andrew Stevens who served in the Marines, did not get to finish his service commitment as he lost his life in a tragic car accident.
Since shipping off to Basic Training, I’ve spent time at Lackland AFB in Texas, Misawa Air Base in Japan, and Osan Air Base in South Korea.
Since enlisting, I’ve grown accustomed to being away from home. I enjoy learning about the various cultures, the friendships I’ve made so far, and lastly, I enjoy learning more about myself along the way.
It is my honor to serve my country and to make my family proud. I am honored to walk in the same footsteps as my great grandfather and my uncle, but just on a different path in the military.
