MAGAZINE
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

TALKING WITH TJ
As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.
Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and outcasts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.
From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!
PENNSYLVANIA RENAISSANCE FAIR
The Pennsylvania Ren Fair, located at Manheim Pennsylvania was a great day. It is on the Mount Hope Estate and Winery, which is a 35-acre ground with Elizabethan Village featuring costumed merrie makes, 22 Royal Kitchens with wenches, and lots of shenanigans. Our day was pirate day, so we all dressed up as pirates, but me. I was the odd ball out.
Our day was filled with lots of craziness. The best part was the various shops that were inside the Elizabethan Village. I always loved the old European town looks and this was right up my ally. Walking through the town was like walking back into the past some 500 years ago. Ye olde wenches were everywhere, and I ain’t complaining. The food was also really good too. Big turkey legs, just like you see on TV. The meade was alright, I ain’t gonna lie, I ain’t a big fan but who am I to judge, I was happy with my food.
Word of the wise, drink lots of fluids. It was hot as hell this day and a lot of hills. By the end of the day half of our group was

While you are there, you can try your hand at axe throwing, archery, and other historical challenges. You can watch the scheduled events, falconry exhibits, horse and lancing competitions, and even a life size chess match with human players dressed as knights, queens, pawns, etc... Throughout the year, there are theme based weekends, wine festivals, and other interesting attractions. One of the coolest while we were there was a mermaid tank with people dressed as mermaids and swimming around. They had it made, as like I said earlier, it was hot as hell the day we went!

Other than that, it was a great time. Hope to you see folks there on our next visit to the Pennsylvania Ren Fair. Don’t forget to give us a huge ARRGGGG when you see us and join our party. You can always find us at the bar near the pirate ship. That is where we tend to hand out and where many of the annual visitors gather for their parties and “family” reunions.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

My love for Mustangs has been around since the 1980s. My first Mustang was a 1979 Mustang GHIA. I also met my wife in high school, which I am obligated to say was the best part of school, not the 302 V8 automatic fast little pony! After owning three other Mustangs after the 1979, I was able to purchase my new 2008 base V6 automatic, with only 5 miles on it (my test drive miles) and I named her Elvira. My base 2008 V6 had more horsepower (210) than my 1979 V8 (140)!
I realized the new S197 had a whole aftermarket industry of modifications to acquire, and I started with a BBK cold air intake that came in chrome with a blue filter. I have themed all the mods in the engine and throughout with chrome and blue accents. I have added many modifications over the past 15 years.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I have lost both my parents and then my wife suffered a stroke in 2018 and has continuing medical issues from it. When life gets tough, I know I can drive Elvira to the car wash or the grocery store and get a boost from people stopping and asking about her. She is like a mini traveling car show. I enjoy doing small town car shows and talking muscle cars with other enthusiasts. I’ve also really enjoyed the opportunity of being featured in five STANG Magazine issues.

I have taken Elvira to numerous car shows and have won trophies and awards. I store Elvira every winter and after 16 years, only have 20,000 miles on it.

ELVIRA GRABS A LOT OF ATTENTION WHEN HER HOOD IS UP.
My passion with Mustangs started after test driving and purchasing my first Mustang, a 2012 V6 in 2015. In February 2021, I traded in my 2012 for Elvira. She’s a 2020 Shadow Black, Mustang GT Premium - Coyote 460 stock, 55th Anniversary, she only had 34 miles.

I joined Mustang Club of Tampa in 2022 shortly after I entered Elvira into her first car show. A friend mentioned that I needed to add some color and the dress up transformation started. Elvira grabs a lot of attention when her hood is up. Hydro Dip work thanks to Afterlife Industries.

I TAKE PRIDE IN BEING A U.S. AIR FORCE VETERAN...
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I have been a Mustang fan since I was old enough to understand what cars were and always wanted one. I wanted one as a first car, but it didn’t happen. I went into the Air Force, got married and had kids... bye bye Mustang dreams. My daughter graduated from high school 23 days before my 40th birthday... so this car was a 40th birthday gift to myself. Since I had spent 8 years serving our country, I wanted it to pay respect to my time in service and my fellow AIr Force brothers and sisters. This is why I named it “FLY BOY” and added all the Air Force highlights.
From the Air Force logos on the running lights, the B1-B Bomber to lead the stripe on the sides to the Air force seat covers, it became my passion. With many compliments and trophies from shows, I feel that I have done a great job at showing my respect. This is only one of five Mustangs I have had and still have, but it has always been my favorite. I take pride in being a U.S. Air Force Veteran and I enjoy showing it off.

FOR ME, HAVING A MUSTANG MAKES DRIVING A BLAST.
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
My love of Mustangs started as a small child with the Mustang II, after seeing the Mustang II on an episode of Charlie’s Angels.
So, at the age of 13, when my mom let me pick out her next new car, I chose a Gray 86 Mustang. The 86 is how I learned to drive a stick. Three years later, I was able to get my first Mustang, a black 89 GT. This is where my addiction to Mustangs started. Shortly after getting my own Mustang, I wanted to make some changes. This lead me to a local shop called Every Last Detail and Performance, where I met a bunch of new friends. Being the only girl around the shop, they decided to come up with a nickname. That is how GT QUEEN was started. Over 30 years later, it has stuck. In 2020, I purchased another Mustang GT PP1 in Twister Orange.
Again, I wanted to make some changes. I started with a JLT catch can, ceramic coat, ceramic tint, Steeda jack rails, and Corsa catback exhaust. Next I did a CAI and added some paint work to the engine cover and CAI. I also added some polished aluminum pieces, a UPR aluminum coolant overflow tank, UPR struts tower caps, Moroso aluminum master cylinder cover, and matching UPR caps. I did a Scott Drake
polished aluminum fuse box cover with a custom polished aluminum pony insert. Finally, I did a custom air brush hood liner to match my Maryland farm theme tag. Paint was completed by Coolidge Customs.
Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!
For me, having a Mustang makes driving a blast. The car is still a work in progress, but for now I will enjoy every moment until my next project starts.

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING HER SINCE I FIRST LAID EYES ON HER...
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
I have always been drawn to Mustangs and had always wanted a burgundy one. My grandfather told me he was going to buy me one as a reward for taking care of my grandparents in 2004, but my Daddy found a 1999 35th Anniversary Edition green Mustang convertible for a good deal. I reluctantly accepted it and it was nice, but burgundy is what I dreamed of.
I met the Stang of my dreams 14 years later in 2018 when I swung by a Kia dealership at last minute on my way to trade in my dearly departed grandmother’s car. She left me a Camaro. The salesman calls me to say, “ You owe it to yourself to come by and look at this 2011 Mustang before you make a decision.” And he was not kidding. I fell in love with her as soon as I sat in the driver’s seat. Absolutely worth waiting for. My granny’s favorite color was red so I know she would approve of trading her car for my beautiful Candy Red Mustang which looks very close to burgundy to me.
I have been driving her since I first laid eyes on her and I keep her in showgirl form with at least one trip a week to the car wash. I have her blinged up with purple accents and hot pink accessories - lips, steering wheel cover, seat covers, custom sunshade, Mustang center wheel cap covers, Mustang pony floor mats, shorty upgraded antenna, Pioneer NexGear blue-
tooth CD / DVD stereo system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and upgraded cowl. I love driving her anywhere and everywhere, just cruising and listening to my favorite tunes. She takes me to a better place... my happy place. One day I hope to own another Mustang in Royal Crimson, then my world will be complete.

HIS ROAR WILL MAKE YOU JUMP OUT OF YOUR SKIN.
For as long as I can remember I have loved Mustangs. It was always my goal to own a Mustang. I have also always loved Halloween so when I purchased my 2021 Mustang GT it just made sense to name it after the king of Halloween - Jack Skellington. Jack the Mustang is just as dark and menacing as Jack Skellington and his roar will make you jump out of your skin.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. Jack is my third Mustang and by far my favorite. Currently the only mods to Jack are tinted windows and smoked out tail lights unless you count the numerous Jack Skellington additions which include headrest covers and a start button cover.

MY DAD SOLD HIS BELOVED MUSTANG AND REGRETTED IT LATER, BY ME PONY KICKING
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
My love of cars began when I was a little girl collecting and playing with Hot Wheels cars. When I turned 16 years old, my Dad tried to teach me how to drive his 1965 Mustang Fastback 3-speed manual. At 16, I couldn’t grasp the concept of shifting gears and doing three things at once (i.e.: clutching, shifting, and gas). Unfortunately, my dad sold his beloved Mustang and regretted it later, by me pony kicking his ass for selling it.
Fast forward to present time, I’m 66 years young and I can say I’ve been the proud owner and operator of seven Mustangs and each one of them being special. My first was a 1974 Mustang II (automatic), I purchased after graduating High School in 1974. Others I’ve owned in the past 50 years were a 1975 Mustang II Hatchback (automatic), 2000 Mustang GT (5-Speed manual), 2003 Mustang Mach I (5-speed manual), 2007 Mustang California Special (5-speed manual), 2011 Mustang GT Convertible (automatic), and my current 2020 Mustang GT (6-speed manual). You read that correctly, manuals were involved, as I did finally learn how to drive a MANUAL! In my opinion, driving a manual makes driving a Mustang so thrilling, while shifting gears, and rev matching that Coyote engine puts the biggest smile on my face! I thoroughly enjoy attending car shows in the Central Florida area and have taken mine to Old Town in Kissimmee, FL and participated in their Friday night Cruise.
HIS ASS FOR SELLING IT.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
I purchased my 2020 Mustang GT used in 2021 with around 11,000 miles on her. The red interior (aftermarket) and it being manual transmission is what sold me on this car. Lady in Red is a “show stopper” and I’ve received so many compliments on this beautiful, feisty, sexy, fast car. The only modifications I’ve made were designing the striping decals and having them professionally made and installed. Future plans for her are to have a Roush axle back exhaust system installed. Other than that, I think my Lady in Red is perfect in every way!

My name is Kelvin Moore and this is my 2022 Mustang GT with the Performance Package. It is nicknamed MJOLNIR.
My love for Mustangs started at a very young age. My father had a 69 Mach 1 in the late 70s and that’s the car that started my interest.
My first car obviously was a Mustang. It was a 1981, 4 cylinder, 4 speed. I had that car for a while but as you know, life happens. I dreamed of owning one again and in August 2022, I bought this beauty.
Mods include Vossen 20” wheels and some visual mods. More mods are planned of course, but one step at a time.

As a Marine Corps Veteran and Firefighter/EMT suffering with severe mental illness, I built his 2011 Mustang GT as a way to spread Veteran and First Reaponder PTSD/Suicide Awareness. The symbolism is the “Nightmares” we deal with every day from our trauma. I am also the founder of OnlyStangs Car Club, which is quickly sweeping the nation with chapters popping up in every state. Just recently Nightmare and OnlyStangs have partnered up with Mission 22 to support the cause of promoting PTSD/Suicide Awareness.

Since I was a child I have always been passionate about muscle cars and all sportscars in general. My uncle used to take me to car shows and car meets growing up and during those shows I was always drawn to the Mustangs. The look, the sound, it all drew me to them. As a teenager I wanted a Mustang but couldn’t afford one and a winter car to withstand the New England winters. Then I had a family while I was a young man and buying a Mustang wasn’t in the cards but I still always checked out other people’s Mustangs.
In 2012, I was getting ready to retire from the Connecticut Department of Corrections where I had been working for almost 20 years as a Correctional Officer. One of my best friends was

Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

MUSTANGS ARE MY LOVE AND PASSION AND HAVE BEEN EVER SINCE I BOUGHT MY FIRST BLACK 99 GT...
Hello everyone, I am from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and this is my 2014 Mustang V6 3.7 liter “Spell Caster”.
His name comes from how when everyone sees him he draws them in. He’s a Deep Impact Metallic Blue with a black Interior. No mods yet but there will be in the future.
Mustangs are my love and passion and have been ever since I bought my first black 99 GT in 2012. They are more than just a car, they are American muscle. They are a way of life.

JUST THE TIP
MORE MATH? RATIOS?
Last month we spoke about the rear end your car and Posi rear. The driveshaft spins a ring and pinion gear in the rear, which converts the vertical motion of the driveshaft to the horizontal motion of the axles, hence spinning the rear wheels to move the car forward. And I’m sure at some point you’ve heard people say things like “I got 410 rear gears” or “I got 373 rear gears”. What are they talking about you may wonder.
The rear gear ratio is the number of rotations that the driveshaft needs to make, to get the rear axles to make one full rotation. For example, if you car is running a 3.55 rear gear ratio (fairly common), that means the driveshaft needs to spin 3.55 times to get one full rotation from the rear axles. 4.10 gears – the driveshaft needs to spin 4.10 times to get one full rotation from the rear axles. This means that the higher number of the ratio requires the

engine to spin the transmission faster, in order to spin the driveshaft faster.
Typically the higher gear ratios improve gas mileage and lower gear ratios are better for performance. But a lot of people, including myself, have modified their Stang with 3:73 gears, especially with the 4.6L motor. It allows the engine to rev up higher in a shorter amount of time and is quite the performance boost.
Is there a downside? Of course. Long trips on highway with the upper gear ratios – your engine will be revved higher the entire trip. If you’re going to do an upgrade
like this, you might want to also consider a 6 speed transmission as the 6th gear acts as an “overdrive” that allows the engine to run a lower RPM while running performance rear gears.

TWISTED BOMBSHELL - BOOK 1 RELEASE
STANG MAGAZINE HAS PUBLISHED MILITARY TRIBUTE BOOKS CALLED TWISTED BOMBSHELL...
If you didn’t know and have not been following along with STANG Magazine in the past two years, you have really been missing out. Not only have we converted to a 501c3 nonprofit giving back to our car enthusiast community, the military, and law enforcement, but we have been launching new projects left and right. A few years back we launched Locked & Loaded Magazine which added more to our pages than just Mustangs. The following year we launched STANG Paranormal because we are crazy and like to go ghost hunting all across the country. Last year, we launched our newest project called “Twisted Bombshell”, focusing completely on our military and our military history.
While getting ready for an event at the Battleship New Jersey, we started to talk about having themed events and honoring our family members who served in the military. We started to research uniforms, family histories, and prized possessions that were passed down through the generations. To make a long story short, out of all of our research, our first Twisted Bombshell book was published and it was a tribute to the 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). They were part of the enormous invasion that landed in Normandy and helped to end World War II.
The best part of those months of endless nights and research... we were able to present the first printed copy to
the ONLY surviving member of the 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). How cool is that?!?
Since then, STANG Magazine has published two other Twisted Bombshell books and we continue to give back to our military near and far. So if you ever see the Twisted Bombshell logo come across our social media outlets or in our pages, that is just one more thing we are doing and something that we hold near and dear to our hearts. Support our Troops!

LOCKED & LOADED
AK-47 VS. AR-15
THEY BOTH HAVE THEIR STRENGTHS...
What’s up people! Welcome to Locked & Loaded Lowdown where we focus on some of the best firearms and “toys” on the market. As many of you auto enthusiasts know, you have to protect youreslf and your property so here at STANG Magazine, we decided to merge our publications all into one, giving you a taste of the best of both worlds. Now, let’s get the LOWDOWN on these bad boys, the AK-47 vs. the AR-15.
The battle between the AK-47 and the AR-15 platforms has been raging for what seems to be a lifetime. Just like religion and politics, you should never bring up the debate as to which platform is better, especially to a bunch of gun enthusiasts. There are many reasons why people choose one or the other. For those who like good old American military might and precision, you have the AR-15 platform. For those who like the always reliable, wicked looking, spray and pray, you have the AK-47 platform. Quite frankly, they both have their strengths and more strengths. It is really hard to talk shit on either platform when they both are the best of the best.
When it comes to the AK-47 platform, history has spoken. The AK-47 platform is genious and will perform under any condition. It is easy to take apart, easy to reassemble, and easy to understand. It is no wonder why this gun has been involved in almost every known military conflict known to man. When it comes to the AR-15 platform, precision and accuracy prevail. The AR-15 style rifles are seemingly more tactical, compact, light, and have been proven to also perform in the
harshest of conditions. Why else would our military keep this style platform? The AR-15, for us as Americans, has also become a universal symbol for patriotism, independence, and good old American ass kicking! If you do not like the AR-15 platform and are American, you are really setting fire to your own house while you are still in it.
Both the AK-47 and the AR-15 platforms are badass and almost any firearm you can purchase based off of either platform is an instant winner. We love both and will always have both by our side.
