STANG Magazine March 2025 Issue

MARCH 2025

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! -

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

BUILDS LIKE THIS ARE TRULY NEVER FINISHED...

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

My name is Robert Stephens and this is my 1995 Mustang Cobra. It was designed by myself and built by Matt Thompson of Slakk Motorsports in Dayton, Tennessee.

The goal for this car was to push a 8.2 deck stock block motor to its limits while keeping it a street car with all the interior intact that looks relatively stock and true to being a Cobra. Builds like this are truly never finished so I have much more planned.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

Some cool features are paint matched export mirrors and paint matched tails courtesy of K&K Custom Mustangs and Kevin Kile. It also has 2004 Terminator seats front and rear that fully are functional.

The car has been in the Ford Takeover event three consecutive years hosted by Foxcast Media founder Caleb Richards. The mods list is extensive but some of the highlights include Trickflow 11r190 cylinder heads, Trickflow R carb intake, Holley Super Sniper 1250, Anderson N71 Cam, BBK longtube headers, Scat rotating assembly 28 ounce balance, Tremec TKX, McLeod RST clutch, Hanlon Motorsports short throw shifter, full suspension upgrades, and a ton more.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

My name is Rick Bauer and this is my 2012 Boss 302 nicknamed “Phelps County 37 BOSS.”

I have always wanted a Boss 302 ever since I looked at a 1969 Boss 302 Mustang while I was going to college. 37 years later I purchased the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. I have other early Mustangs but enjoy the Boss because it is a specialty Mustang and it has a legendary history at the track. I currently cruise, show, and occasionally go to the MPH Motorsports in Hastings, Nebraska with my wife, Renee’ and four daughters, Justine, Allison, Whitney and Ashley, each who own a Mustang of their own. Being a Ford Mustang family I’ve always had an interest in Mustangs which has brought me to appreciate the Boss 302 model.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. The car was originally owned by Everett Vaughn, from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, who was able to have the strut tower brace signed by Gale Halderman the designer of the first Mustang. The Boss is one of 1,135 Competition Orange cars with optional SVT Recaro seats and Torsen limited slip 3:73 differential. With just over 22,000 miles, I have tried to keep the car as original as possible but upgraded to MGW X-Spec shifter and Borla Atak mufflers. The car has 444 horsepower

My name is Samantha Webb and this is Beth, my 2003 Mustang GT Convertible Centennial Edition. Beth is one of the 2,040 Centennials made of which 1,323 were convertibles and the remaining 717 were coupes. My love for Mustangs started when I was very young and the New Edge is my absolute favorite generation. I love her look and love the sound more. I can never be in a bad mood while cruising around and showing her off. I have not had many modifications done so far. I have plenty of time and plenty of ideas, but until next time I will keep cruising and enjoying the rumble!

ALL FUN IN THE SUN AND A NICE RUMBLE TO ENJOY.

This is my 2007 Mustang GT Deluxe named “Big Orange.” It is a 4.6L 3V engine with automatic transmission and no modifications.

This Mustang is really a lot of fun to drive. Being a bright orange, it really turns heads around here probably because there are so many Tennessee Volunteer fans in this East Tennessee area. I will be taking Big Orange to a few car shows this summer and fall. All fun in the sun with a nice rumble to enjoy.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I don’t have any immediate plans to modify it but do have a Whipple supercharger in the back of my mind. You just can’t ever get enough with these Mustangs. 60 years of these power ponies says a lot about the popularity and longevity of these special cars.

I run a Facebook group called “Mustangs of East Tennessee.” We have over 400 members currently and growing. Everybody shares pictures of their Mustangs and constantly posts Mustang humor.

THIS IS VEHICLE #1 OF THE 20 PRODUCED IN 2017.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

My name is Ron Prior and this is my 2017 Roush Warrior nicknamed “Blumoostang.” This is vehicle #1 of the 20 produced in 2017.

So what is a Roush Warrior Mustang you might ask? Well, they are unique, custom, and limited production Mustangs that were designed and produced by Military AutoSource in partnership with the legendary Roush Performance team. These vehicles were made available exclusively to members of the U.S. Military stationed or deployed overseas in limited production from 2015 - 2017.

In 2017, there were a total of 40 vehicles produced. There were two versions of the Warrior: the Roush Warrior Mustang and the Roush Warrior Scout Edition. The Scout Edition featured a supercharger and many of the warrior design cues and components but at a lower price point.

My Roush Warrior is currently equipped with an 80mm pulley, Whipple twin 68mm throttle body, Injector Dynamics 1050X fuel injectors, Barton Hybrid 3 short throw shifter, Roush X pipe, Kooks 1 3/4” stainless longtube headers with high flow cats, Steeda G-Trac stage II ultimate suspension, VMP

IAT sensor and harness, Dynotech 3 1/2” one piece aluminum driveshaft, and Snow Performance stage II progressive methanol injection with 2.5 gallon tank and stainless braided lines.

MY BIGGEST REGRET WAS NOT PUSHING MYSELF TO CHASE A MUSTANG SOONER.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

Hi my name is Shawn Cooper and this is my 2018 Mustang GT, Magneto.

Magneto is my first Mustang and first manual. I grew up always wanting a Mustang, but chose a 01 Z28 as my first car at 16 for 2500 bucks. Crazy 10 years ago you could do that!

So I stuck with the cheap mindset and kept buying LS cars until last year I went for a test drive in this very car and instantly fell in love. It sounded and felt like no other car I’ve ever driven.

I could barely hold back how much I wanted the car, I didn’t even know how to drive it! Still to this day it puts a giant smile on my face every time I start it, like the day I bought it. I’d say my biggest regret was not pushing myself to chase a Mustang sooner.

For the looks of Magneto I was looking to keep it simple but clean so I chose the typical build: Steeda lowering springs, a beautiful set of Aodhans, and a GT500 spoiler. For power adders it has a Xforce varex catback for now and the ultimate goal is to be boosted by the end of the year.

My name is Scott Harleman and this is my 2014 Mustang nicknamed “Shelly.” I purchased the car from a guy in Georgia as at the time of looking to purchase a Mustang, the Grabber Blue caught my eye. The car was beautiful when she finally arrived. Nicely polished, clean, and a full tank of gas, ready to hit the open road. I also purchased the car as my late wife Michelle, lost her battle fight with pancreatic cancer, more of a reason to buy a Mustang, for the new memories that are being created while remembering our previous memories. The edited photos were taken randomly by an Instagram user. I don’t recall his name but want to give him a huge shout out for his work as I was out and about and the sky was right with the blues and he snapped a few pictures. The icy ones were from the recent storm we had out here in Oregon. I wanted to showcase how this Mustang is utilized daily regardless of weather. As they say, these cars were meant to be driven!

KEEP IT GOING FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

It started out with my first Mustang, a 1994 Vibrant Red GT five speed, that I did the typical first mods to. A cat delete, Flowmasters, lowering springs, Cobra Rs and a cold air intake. That car probably had 190 HP and maybe 250 torque if I was lucky, but I absolutely fell in love with it and honestly the history of the Mustang in general and where it was going especially with the Coyote and Voodoo platforms.

Fast forward a few years, I sold my 1994 for fatherly reasons because family always comes first. I got the Mustang itch again so I cashed in on the ridiculous money they were giving for trucks. I sold my 2015 F-150 for a pretty generous profit and I bought me a Race Red 2013 GT Premium six speed and did a few things to it. I thought I was pretty happy with the new one, but after a year and a half it wasn’t what I was wanting so I started looking at a replacement. I was hesitant on the 2024s and started seeing the markups and honestly other than the Dark Horse, which is financially out of reach, I decided to go with an S550 instead and I couldn’t be happier that I decided to go that route.

Now that I got the history of how I got started with Mustangs I’ll start on my beautiful 2022 Carbonized Grey GT. I got in it and I immediately fell in love with the power delivery and the way it put it to the ground. It was more like a sports car with the independent suspension and not like a supercharged SN95 with the straight rear axle. I know it sounds stupid, but I love the attention I get when it’s clean and I’m driving down the street and people are looking or giving me a thumbs up. The best is when you can make a kid’s day by giving it a quick

rev or something. That’s what it’s really about is passing the torch and our passion down like my dad and mom did with me, I did with my son and him and I will do with my grandson and granddaughter. I hope the passion all of us have for our cars can inspire and encourage younger generations to create some amazing cars themselves and keep it going for generations to come.

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

I have owned this cobra for just over ten years now. I am the second owner and picked it up from High End Auto in Appomattox, Virginia. It had just over 45K miles on it when I took ownership of this car. It was always a top goal of mine to own one of these amazing cars ever since I first seen them on the streets back when I was in high school. Anyone who knows anything about Mustangs and Mustang history knows the story on the Terminator Cobra and how it shaped the current Mustang fanbase. And to be able to own a small piece of that legacy has always been a dream goal of mine. I absolutely love this car and wouldn’t trade or sell it for anything else.

I have made several modifications, but still have quite a few more mods left on the list. Eventually, I plan on switching out to a Whipple 2.9L supercharger along with some custom cams as well. I also have plans on overhauling and upgrading the IRS suspension with coilovers and a full tilt boogie setup. Also adding some Driveshaft Shop axles in as well. I’m currently at just over 500 rwhp with the current setup and goal is to be around 750 rwhp when mods list is complete. Might be

I KNOW MY FATHER IS LOOKING DOWN ON ME AND AT TIMES EVEN JOINS IN ON A RIDE.

Hello my name is Jeff Bundens. I am a Senior Master Ford Technician and I have built my own 2014 Shelby GT 500 in honor of my father. My father had his dream car, which was a 1969 Chevelle SS. It too was white with black stripes. I know my father is looking down on me and at times even joins in on a ride.

This build came from my head to reality and I give you VENOM. The car was all stock when I bought it four years ago. I first built the suspension using the Ford Racing adjustable kits. I used some Steeda and BMR parts in the rear. Engine build is made up of a lot of VMP Performance parts, L&M cams, and Kooks full exhaust. Custom audio system was also built, highlighted by the custom enclosure in the trunk. Two eight inch DD audio subs pushed by a 2000 watt DD class D amp gives you plenty of thumping power. Finished the build as of right now with a custom made offset of wheels, thanks to MRR wheel. This gave me the the room to run 20x10 front with 285s and 20x11 rear 315s. Dyno and tuning was done by VMP Performance. Car makes 833 hp and 757 tq on 93 octane to the rear wheels.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. A MUSTANG IS A MUSTANG NO MATTER WHAT’S UNDER THE HOOD.

My name is Jessica Floyd and this is “Zero”, my 2014 Ford Mustang.

If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. My passion for Mustangs started when I was very young. My mom had a 1994 convertible and we rode in it everywhere. I told her one day I will own a Mustang. When I turned eighteen I bought my first dream car. It was a 2002 convertible named Monster.

Two years ago I purchased my second dream car. It’s a 2014 Mustang named Zero. I’m not sure if it’s the way they look or sound but Mustangs have always been a part of my life and always will be. To me a Mustang is a Mustang no matter what’s under the hood.
