“ROXANNE”

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! -

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

IT IS ALL GREEN LIGHTS FROM HERE.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

My passion for Mustangs started when I fell in love with the late 80s Mustangs as a young teenager. I was fortunate enough to own an ‘87 GT for a few years in college, but sold it for something a bit more reliable and comfortable for commuting in preparation for entering the working class. Fast forward 20 years when I was seeking my third convertible for daily transportation and a bit more fun. At first, I mixed things up and bought a 2017 Camaro. Turns out the seats hurt my back and the visibility was terrible. Fortunately, I was able to return it. So I set my sights on a Mustang. I had nearly given up hope of finding a convertible with the 10-speed automatic, heated steering wheel, and blind spot monitoring, until I found this one located two hours away at a chain of dealerships where we ironically purchased my wife’s car a few years earlier.

Roxanne is a 2018 EcoBoost Premium Plus Convertible in Race Red. Like the song by the same name, she spent the first year of her life “walking the streets for money” as a Hertz rental car in Idaho racking up a meager 4800 miles. I saved her from that life and now I “won’t share her with another boy”. This Mustang is enjoyed every day as a dai-

ly driver and spends the majority of April-September with the top down. She has been to Tail of the Dragon, Carlisle Ford Nationals, several STANG Magazine events (including Watkins Glen and the Battleship New Jersey), the Mustang Owner’s Museum, Ocean City’s Endless Summer Cruisin’, and many car shows.

From the factory Roxanne came well equipped with leather seats, digital gauge cluster, adaptive cruise control, auto -

matic climate control, and Shaker Pro audio system making daily driving very comfortable. For top-down driving, I definitely appreciate the ventilated seats in the summer and the heated seats in Spring/Fall. Although a bit gimmicky, the illuminated sill plates, pony shaped puddle lights, and illuminated footwells are fun. A fairly unique feature is the Wheel and Stripe package that added fender stripes and unique 19” wheels.

After spending about a year mostly stock, Roxanne got a cp-e intercooler, Roush cold air intake, and custom tune boosting her performance to around 400hp (at the crank).

Under the hood, her treatments include a custom airbrushed hoodliner, cp-e charge pipe, Roush cold air intake, and several custom painted parts to match the exterior.

Outside, she sports GT grills, custom airbrushed pony emblems, CDC Outlaw spoiler, MMD bumper vents, yellow caliper covers, and custom vinyl hood stripes.

Roxanne, “you don’t have to put on that red light,” it is all green lights from here.
