For centuries, Suzhou was the global center of the silk trade. To

techniques now largely unused in China. Many of the building facades are made of stone and use traditional Chinese ‘long-gu’ application–a craft nearly lost in today‘s China. Additionally, the custom, glazed exterior tiles used as decorative accents on building facades were painstakingly developed with local artisans and have become a signature feature in Suzhou Village. This attention to detail is a hallmark of Stantec’s design service.
