Wishing all students a great 2021/2022 school year!

Family: My parents, Paul and Rita, and my sister, Raechel. Hometown: St. Joseph College: St. Cloud State University Years of experience: This will be my first year teaching. Who has been your favorite educator? My favorite educator would be Debra Rollings. She was my high school art teacher and was the one who inspired me to pursue being an art teacher. Without her push and drive during my high school career, I would not be where I am today. If you could teach your students only one thing, what would it be? If I could teach my students only one thing, it would be persistence. When I first started making art in school, I was not the best at it, but through my persistence in learning, I have been able to grow. I am still growing my skills as an artist today. Building skills takes time, and when you stick to it and have the persistence to try new skills and ideas when you are learning, you may end up surprising yourself with what you can create.

Hometown: Sauk Centre College: Minnesota State University-Moorhead Years of experience: three years Who has been your favorite educator? Being a teacher, I often get asked how I knew I wanted to be a teacher. JoAnn Kohorst was a big influence for me. She was actually the first person to tell me that I should be a teacher someday. I love her teaching style, her attitude and love of her job. I was able to be in her fifth grade class, and I took a class in high school where I helped in her classroom every morning for a semester. If I want students to respect me, I need to show and model respect to them. I want them to respect all people and things, including themselves. There are many ways to have open discussions and observations on this one topic, which can help them be role models and positive citizens as they grow up. favorite educator was my elementary science professor, Diana Fenton. She was the most fun teacher I've ever had and made me realize how important being an educator is. She helped me in any way she could, even if it didn't relate to her class. If you could teach your students only one thing, what would it be? If I could teach my students one thing, I would teach them about the importance of relationships with others.
