ROSEVILLE – Two area residents were accepted into the Minnesota FFA Alumni and Supporters Association President’s Circle Leadership Training. Amy Robak, of Sauk Rapids, and Ashley Willenbring, of Foley, began training in December and will conclude the program in March. Willenbring and Robak will be recognized for their commitment to personal development and interest in improving agriculture during the Minnesota FFA Alumni State Conference March 5 at South Central Technical College in Mankato. President’s Circle Leadership Training is a systematic, sustainable leadership enhancement program for Minnesota FFA alumni and supporters that involves enhancing and building alumni mem-
ber leadership skills which, in turn, will sustain and improve agriculture education in Minnesota. Over the past six years, 106 FFA alumni members have participated in the program delivered by Welchlin Communication Strategies. Core training includes a strong focus on teamwork, con ict resolution, mentor leadership and strategic planning. The two-day December training occurred at the Oliver Kelley Farm, a state historical site and learning center located in Elk River. The farmstead is that of Oliver Kelley, founder of The Grange, the rst national farm organization. The Oliver Kelley Farm tells the story of both farm life in the mid to late 1800s as well as the story of modern agriculture.
