This new option is part of the IRS’ continued efforts to expand digital options for tax pros using electronic signatures. Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative PDF and Form 8821, Tax Information Authorization PDF are two forms that allow taxpayers to authorize the IRS to disclose the taxpayer’s tax information to third parties, such as tax professionals. Form 2848 is a taxpayer’s written authorization appointing an eligible individual to represent the taxpayer before the IRS, including performing certain acts on the taxpayer’s behalf. It also authorizes the representative to receive related confidential tax information of the taxpayer from the IRS. Form 8821 is a taxpayer’s written authorization designating a third party to receive and view the taxpayer’s information. The taxpayer and the tax professional must sign Form 2848. If the tax professional uses the new online option, the signatures on the forms can be handwritten or electronic. Form 8821 only needs the taxpayer’s signature. If they are using the new online option, the taxpayer’s signature can be handwritten or electronic. If the tax professional uses the electronic signature option for a new client, they must authenticate their client’s identity. Tax pros can also use the Submit Forms 2848 and 8821 Online to withdraw previous authorizations. However, the new online option can’t be used to ask questions or address other issues. Authorization forms uploaded through this option will be worked on a first-in, first-out basis along with mailed and faxed forms.

Easter is a signi cant holiday for Christians across the globe. Though Easter Sunday is when faithful Christians gather to celebrate their faith, the week preceding Easter Sunday is full of signi cant events as well. Known as Holy Week, the week preceding Easter begins with Palm Sunday and ends with Holy Saturday, the day preceding Easter Sunday. Holy Week commemorates different events that unfolded over the nal days of Jesus Christ’s life. • Palm Sunday: According to Catholic Online, Palm Sunday celebrates the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. On the day of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem, residents laid palms before him, which is why palms are distributed to the Christian faithful each year during Palm Sunday Mass. Palms are blessed at Mass, and many Christians turn their palms into crosses upon arriving home. The palms are eventually returned to the church, where they are burned, and the ashes of the palms are then used during the

following year’s Ash Wednesday services. • Holy Thursday: Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, when Jesus celebrated the Passover feast with his disciples. In the story of Jesus Christ, the night of the Last Supper was the same night that Jesus was betrayed by his disciple, Judas. • Good Friday: Good Friday commemorates the trial, punishment and cruci xion of Christ. Though the of cial presiding over the trial of Jesus, Pontius Pilate, found no evidence of Jesus’s guilt in relation to the charges led against him, he ultimately agreed to Christ’s cruci xion anyway in an effort to appease the crowd and avoid a riot. As a result, Christ was stripped, ogged and crowned with thorns before being made to carry his cross through the streets to the place where he was ultimately cruci ed. On Good Friday, the tabernacle inside Catholic churches is left empty to symbolize that Christ is departed. • Holy Saturday: The nal day of Holy Week, Holy Saturday is a day to remember that Christ descended into hell, where he preached the gospel and opened the way to heaven for all those who were worthy.
