Tell us about your involvement in 4-H. What 4-H programs are you a part of? I do crafts, fine arts, goats, and rabbits. With the club I clean road ditches and water flowers in Freeport. What is your favorite 4-H activity? Why? My favorite activity is the fair because there are rides, food, animals, and more fun things. Tell us about a memorable moment while involved in 4-H. I remember going through a haunted house. I got to the middle and turned around because I got scared. It was the moment I got scared and dashed out waiting for my friend to finish. I was in 4-H for 11 years from 1974 to 1985. During those years I learned many important lessons; however, two that really stood out were responsibility and achievement...There was always a lot of preparation, and, thanks to our parents and leader, we gained a sense of achievement. - Rick Jennissen, Vice President, Minnesota National Bank

Motorcycle AFETY S

INTERACTING WITH MOTORCYCLES 1. Look left, right - and left again - for motorcyclists. 2. Assume a motorcycle is closer than it looks. 3. Take an extra moment to check your blind spot. 4. Be cautious when going through intersections. 5. Assume a motorcyclist may slow down without visual warning. 6. Make sure rider’s turn signal has not been turned on accidentally. 7. Don’t assume motorcyclists are speeding. 8. Don’t expect a motorcyclist to always be able to dodge out of the way. 9. Allow more following distance behind a motorcycle because it can’t always stop “on a dime.” 10. When a motorcycle is in motion, don’t think of it as a motorcycle; think of it as a person.
