Roma High JROTC Hosts Zapata High for In-House Competition
STARR COUNTY TOWN CRIER, FEBRUARY 2, 2022, PAGE 3
My pledge to the people of Starr County Precinct 4:
By: LTC Luis C. Barrera, Roma HS JROTC SAI The Roma High School JROTC Gladiator Battalion hosted Zapata High School JROTC earlier in January for a friendly Marksmanship Shooting Match to prepare for the NRA Sectionals next week at PSJA High School. The JROTC Marksmanship 3 Position Matches are one of the most participated shooting competitions in the United States. Each year, thousands of JROTC Cadets, representing Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force JROTCs compete in this type of Shooting Match. Cadet SFC Daniel Luera achieved the high score during our match and was awarded the Sharpshooter Medal and a Gladiator RTIC Bottle. The Roma and Zapata cadets enjoyed learning from each other. The new Roma High JROTC Facility can accommodate 8 shooters at a time. Roma High JROTC Cadets would like to thank all cadets for participating in our friendly match!
• To work with the people and communities of Starr County to provide fast and efficient services. • To work closely with local, state and federal law enforcement to meet the safety and security needs of our community. • To maintain the lines of communication open between myself and all constituents. • To seek no other public office while serving my term so I may dedicate myself entirely to the job people elected me to do. • To seek no more than two terms. • To ALWAYS represent our community in a positive way, avoid all conflicts of interest and lead by example.

Little actions like these can ensure our employees and their families stay healthy, and that our district can stay focused on our mission of student excellence.” “We want to thank our School Board for their consideration and
